This role will be Full-Time Days Four Shifts at nine hours per shift, Monday-Friday, day off will be in the middle of the week. Float position at ambulatory sites. PFT experience preferred. Job Responsibilities:
- Performs weaning mechanics as ordered with high proficiency in more than 90% of ventilator patients cared for.
- Review the need for continuing ventilator support (i.e. spontaneous breathing trial, weaning) in more than 95% of patients care for with high degree of proficiency on a daily basis.
- Routinely develops or refines ventilator care plans and communicates to patient care teams.
- Performs tests, collects specimens in addition to dating, validating and interpreting basic/complex diagnostic testing (e.g. bronchoscopy samples, complex PFT's)
- Validates the quality of the results with high proficiency and minimal supervision. Formulates a respiratory care plan for almost all patients based on patient diagnostic data, response to therapy and physiological profiles. Integrates respiratory care plans into patients' complete care plans.
Additional Requirements:
- 2 Years of critical care experience
- Graduate of an accredited CoArc (The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) respiratory program.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). One of the following (ACLS, PALS or NRP). In addition, must possess one of the following: an additional Advance Certification (ACLS, PALS or NRP) or an Advanced Credential (ACCS, AEC, NPS, RPFT, CPFT or SDS) or a relevant Bachelors Degree.
- BLS from AHA Upon Start
- Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Respiratory Therapist
- Work Schedule - 36 Hours Per Week Full-Time Night with Weekends 7:00PM to 7:00AM
