Provides quality customer service to insureds and customers. Resolves service problems in a contact center environment via multiple channels including phone, email and chat with a focus on quality and timely resolution. Under general supervision, follows standard processes and procedures on assignments of moderate complexity. May refer inquiries beyond level of knowledge or authority to more experienced representatives or published material.

What You'll Do

As a Customer Service Representative I, you'll work within a call center environment and provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers across all US time zones. In addition, you will:

  • Handle a high volume of inquiries/requests via phone, email, fax, and mail

  • Perform pre-underwriting screening

  • Verify coverage, evaluate submitted bills, and authorize payments

  • Advise customers of billing policies and procedures and process policy changes

  • Resolve customer inquiries and maintain customer relations

  • Work assigned special projects

  • Assists with helpdesk and mentoring/training of peer Customer Service Representatives

  • Receive and record loss reports

  • Provides up front assistance for processing claims

What it Takes

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience

  • 1-2 years of related work experience including prior call center experience with a customer service background

  • High level of accuracy with data entry and strong attention to detail

  • Must be available to work between the hours of 9:00pm CT to 6:00AM CT Monday - Friday and every other weekend.

  • This is a Full-Time Position

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Strong communication skills including ability to effectively communicating difficult news

  • Ability to multi-task prioritizes, communicate effectively, remain organized and work independently

  • Good working knowledge of PC based computers and familiarity with Microsoft Office

  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) skill is a plus
