Join our team as a Sales Portals Project Manager!
This is a hybrid role being onsite in Maple Plain, MN on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
The Portals Project Manager's (PM) core responsibilities include logging into customer portals and pulling out RFQ packages/ files. Reviewing CAD and drawing files, submitting files for quote in the correct manufacturing service/ offer, in some instances working with colleagues to update quotes as needed, and for some customers submitting quotes/ packages to the customer via their portals. This includes engaging resources and ensuring quality throughout projects. PM builds a knowledge base of each client's business, organization and objectives and continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and enhance client relationships through effective communication.

You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Works under general direction assuming primary responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating, and delivering project activities through the entire project life cycle
  • Creates and executes work plans for projects of moderate scope and complexity
  • Plan and schedule and track project timelines, milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Partner with internal team members to manage and execute multiple client projects simultaneously in a variety of stages with a strong focus on timely execution and overall work quality.
  • Be the point of contact for customers (internal and external) to reach out to with any questions during the project
  • Effectively communicates relevant project information to responsible parties.
  • Facilitates team and client meetings effectively.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in an expedient fashion
  • Reviews project deliverables prepared by team for clients.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management
  • Continuously leverage relationships with key team members and stakeholders in support of business/project needs. Lead by example and foster collaboration and commitment to teamwork
  • Be a trusted partner to key team members and stakeholders, acting as the hub of information and driving transparency and clarity
  • Communicate project statuses and upcoming milestone dates to all stakeholders and alert management of potential conflicting priorities and potential resolutions
  • Interacting with in a professional manner with all designers, engineers, production personnel, or customers involved with the same or related projects in cross functional team environment
  • Coordination with the internal project team (engineering, manufacturing, and quality) for the planning and execution of the projects
  • Conducting post-mortem review and lessons learned for future projects
  • Facilitate the resources needed to reach project goals and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What It Takes:
  • Bachelor's degree or related experience
  • Minimum 2 years of reviewing CAD files or 2D drawings
  • High aptitude for technical detail
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Ability to prioritize work with little direction
  • Strong written communication, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including manufacturing, product managers, clients, and other internal departments
  • Ability to bring project to successful completion
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a time-sensitive environment
  • Bonus: Knowledge of CNC Machining

Protolabs offers a competitive total rewards package, and compensation mix vary based on position, such as base wage, as well as other earnings including incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, job function, work experience, specialized skills, training, education, and certifications.

Physical Demands:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. However, there may be job duties that require the employee to spend time in the manufacturing areas exposed to machinery and noise; eye protection occasionally required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
