Utz Quality Foods is seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Automation Training Coordinator to support our growing network of manufacturing facilities across the U.S. In this onsite role primarily based in Hanover, PA, you'll play a critical role in developing and delivering technical training programs that elevate the skills of our production and maintenance teams across the U.S.

This role blends automation, engineering, and workforce development, perfect for someone passionate about translating complex systems into clear, actionable learning for all levels of operators and technicians.

Responsibilities:



  • Design, deliver, and manage hands-on training programs for operators and maintenance technicians on a wide range of automated manufacturing and packaging systems, including PLCs, robotics, and integrated production lines.
  • Travel up to 35% to support site-specific training needs and conduct on-the-floor coaching across multiple U.S locations.
  • Support all shifts as needed, with occasional early, late, or weekend hours depending on plant schedules.
  • Collaborate with site and corporate teams to build standardized, site-specific training materials such as visual aids, SOPs, and digital learning content.
  • Assess technical skill levels and maintain robust competency matrices across all facilities and shifts.
  • Serve as a training resource and coach during onboarding, role changes, or cross-training opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate training records in the Learning Management System (LMS) and track progress for compliance and performance purposes.
  • Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and HR teams to drive a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.


Requirements:




  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required.


  • Ability to travel up to 35% across multiple facilities in the U.S and support all shifts as needed.

  • Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with automation technologies, including robotics, PLC systems, motion controls, and self-driving forklifts (AGVs/AMRs).



  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver comprehensive technical training programs for automation and maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment.



  • Prior experience in food manufacturing or other high-speed, regulated environments is highly preferred.



  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), document control systems, and modern training tools (visual aids, digital content, etc.).



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex systems in simple terms.



  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite and basic troubleshooting software tools.


  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a strong plus.
