The Role:

The Training Specialist is responsible for the coordination and administration of training programs, ensuring efficient logistics, effective communication, and a high-quality experience for both internal and external customers. This role supports daily operations of the training center, facilitates scheduling and resource planning, and plays a key role in maintaining training documentation and vendor relationships.

Location: Rochester

The Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers attending training programs, assisting with scheduling and providing guidance on travel arrangements.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally, ensuring a positive and supportive training experience.
  • Collaborate with instructors to support the successful deployment of training programs.
  • Coordinate all travel-related logistics for training participants, including booking airfare, lodging, and transportation.
  • Manage on-site logistics such as hotel and meal arrangements, classroom refreshments, and facility needs to ensure seamless training events.
  • Schedule and manage customer training sessions and virtual webinars, maintaining an accurate and up-to-date training calendar.
  • Send timely event confirmations, reminders, and follow-ups to participants and instructors.
  • Maintain accurate training records, including attendance, certifications, and completion data, within the learning management system (LMS).
  • Ensure compliance with documentation standards and audit readiness.
  • Liaise with external vendors, account representatives, and internal facility teams, including catering and maintenance, to support training center needs.
  • Manage training-related expenses, including preparing and submitting expense reports for Health Care provider (HCP).
  • Initiate and track purchase orders, ensuring timely procurement of goods and services.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the training center, ensuring all resources and supplies are available and functioning.
  • Prepare and organize training materials and supplies for in-person sessions.
  • Maintain digital signage (e.g., hallway monitors) to reflect current training schedules and announcements.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned

The Individual

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Experience maintaining training records, update paperwork, manage training certifications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Organization skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects
  • Proactive problem-solving
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe, LMSs)
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfortable working closely with all departments, particularly Sales and Project Managers, and interact with all levels of personnel.

The Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based. You will spend a significant portion of your time at a desk, utilizing a computer and phone to communicate with colleagues and clients. The role involves light physical activity, including lifting and moving objects weighing up to 20 pounds, and walking around the office to collaborate with team members.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $68,000.00 - $116,000.00 annually. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
