That's why our team is looking to add a Senior Business Analyst.

The GWS Product & Strategy team is a technology driven, business focused, and human centered group that's on the forefront of creating exceptional experiences for our associates. Working with partners from across GWS, Technology, HR and others, you will help solve business problems, develop industry-leading technology solutions and drive strategic alignment with senior leaders across our organization and the enterprise. This Sr. Associate Business Analyst will have two primary responsibilities. First, you will help consolidate intellectual capital from across our organization to drive progress on GWS' biggest strategic imperatives, using data to tell compelling stories that drive alignment. Second, you will help define and measure success for our internal products, drawing on both quantitative and qualitative data sources.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the knowledge, skills, and insight required in role

  • Have a strong ability to use data to tell compelling stories that drive action

  • Be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and with sufficient detail/context to various audiences, including senior executives

  • Have a deep reverence for the Capital One associate experience and obsess over making it even better

  • Positively reflect the GWS brand when interacting with customers

  • Offer opinions and ideas based on a clear understanding of the key drivers behind assigned tasks

  • Prioritize tasks effectively and keep others informed

  • Demonstrate self-awareness when working with others and respect for others' contributions/ways of thinking

  • Flag challenges/developments of concern that may impact expected results; understand the root cause and materiality of said challenges

  • Actively engage with others to build relationships, collaborate, and contribute toward team deliverables

Key Responsibilities:

Analysis

  • Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve for them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that we support large business objectives based on rigorous analytics

  • Involve problem frameworks, develop hypotheses, test and analysis, solution development, scope operational feasibility, lead implementation efforts and develop a monitoring plan

Product

  • Perform modeling/analytics to refine and/or develop new products for various users and environments

  • Support customer-focused research efforts to inform strategic intent for products for mass utilization across Capital One.

  • Help build targeted insights to inform the design and development of new customer experiences, as well as breakthrough technology and concepts designed to deliver on new go to market strategies

Partnerships and Project Excellence

  • Demonstrate strong business judgment, leadership and integrity

  • Partner with colleagues across Capital One including IT, Sales, Operations, Finance, Vendors, and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, and service

  • Leverage written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Demonstrate a committed focus on achieving both short and long term goals. Drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment

  • Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. Previous consulting experience is a plus.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)

  • At least 1 year of experience in analysis

  • At least 1 year of experience in SQL querying

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering

  • 1+ years of experience in Statistical model building

  • 1+ years of experience in market research

  • 2+ years of experience in SQL querying

  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis

  • 1+ years of experience in consulting

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $109,000 - $124,400 for Sr. Business Analyst Richmond, VA: $99,100 - $113,100 for Sr. Business Analyst

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
