Full-time / Direct Hire / 100% Remote (USA)
25-50% travel may be required depending on customer requirements.
The primary function of the Manager, Project Management, is to manage all aspects of a backlog of projects and the project managers assigned which includes project management, risk mitigation, managing customer expectations, and leading the desired solution for each project while developing and supporting a high performing project management team. This is a specialized position requiring a level of management, management of a billable consulting P&L, leadership and Spok product knowledge with project management skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership:
>Manages a team of project managers focused on program management providing them guidance and support of following the gold standards and policies of professional services.
>Managing customer escalations to a successful resolution for their project team assigned engagements.
>Accurately managing to revenue targets for team, to include managing project hours budgets, forecasting go-live and project closes for their teams assigned engagements.
>Assigned Project Sponsor for large projects to provide executive support to break down barrier for project success.
>Create development plans for individual team members for continuous team improvement across project management.
>Hires and onboards new team members.
>Identifying areas of opportunities for improvement and developing ways to improve customer satisfaction through better implementations.
>Envisions, builds, socializes, scales, and actively contributes to Spok's agile best practices implementation methodology. Incorporates PMP skills and background into the Spok 'gold standard' for project implementations that flex by product mix, customer complexity, scope and scale, and fixed fee project hours budget.
>Fiscally responsible and focused on project profitability.
Project Management:
>Maintain a 60% billable utilization.
>Assists in managing some strategic projects from inception through completion. May manage their own projects at times.
>Assists in determining project schedule, scope, and budget for project managers
>Directs appropriate team members in fulfilling the specifications to meet client and Spok objectives.
>Guides, mentors, and evaluates team members performance within project guidelines.
Customer Relations:
>Communicates with customers as a leadership contact regarding project process, progress, and completion.
>Communicates across various Spok departments (Sales & Marketing, Support, Engineering) regarding their roles with the project and provides necessary requirements.
>Deliver customer support in a professional manner
>Passionate about advocating for and making decisions to ensure the success of our customers.
Communication:
>Listen and communicate information in a professional manner to a diverse customer base, vendors, and internal departments at all skill levels both verbally and in writing.
>Participate and facilitate customer conference calls.
>Coach and develop project team members to meet or exceed goals and objectives to provide excellent project management.
Analysis and review:
>Provide proactive resolutions to developing problems. Suggests modifications when necessary and may result in a permanent fix to a problem.
>Provide clinical expertise as needed to help advance internal or external clinical knowledge around product delivery.
>Ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment and meet deadlines
>Provides resolution and process improvements to improve KPI metrics developed by the team.
Reporting:
>Evaluates and reports project outcomes, customer satisfaction and customer concerns which include lessons learned, profitability, and utilization trends.
>Reports project status, schedules, issues, resolutions, and completions to necessary parties.
Sales Support:
>Works cross collaboratively with Sales and Solution Architects for create, review, and validate scope of work (SOW) documents.
>Provide pre-sales support as a professional services representative as needed.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
>Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
>5+ years of experience in project management
>PMP Certification (Active)
>3+ years of experience managing teams to include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
>Project Management experience in the healthcare IT space
>25-50% travel may be required depending on customer requirements.
