In this role, you will assist in optimizing Jira (Issue and Project Tracking software) functionality, automating file ingestion, and developing robust processes for file movement. This internship is an excellent opportunity for third-year (or above) students in Computer Programming, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the IT team to enhance and customize Jira functionality to meet business needs.
  • Develop and automate processes for file ingestion, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows.
  • Design and implement a structured process for secure and reliable file movement.
  • Work closely with team members to identify and resolve technical challenges.
  • Document technical processes and workflows to ensure long-term sustainability and knowledge sharing.


Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Programming, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (3rd year or above preferred).
  • Familiarity with Jira and experience enhancing its capabilities is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of automation processes and file management systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-focused setting.

Duration:

  • This internship will run for five consecutive weeks, starting as soon as June 2nd. This accounts for time off for company holidays.

Location:

  • This internship requires you to work on-site at the GATX offices in the Willis Tower five days per week.
