Job Description:

We are seeking aJunior Power BI Developer / Business Analystto support data-driven decision-making forNAVSEAandPEO USCprograms within a Department of Defense (DoD) contracting environment. This hybrid role combines technical report development usingPower BIwithbusiness analysisfunctions, including gathering requirements, analyzing financial and program data, and supporting strategic insights for Navy stakeholders. Ideal for early-career professionals looking to grow in both data visualization and business process analysis in a federal setting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support Navy program reporting
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business/financial stakeholders to gather, document, and validate requirements
  • Perform data analysis on program financials, budgets, and obligations to identify trends and discrepancies
  • Assist in the creation of development documentation and other business-related documentation in support of application development initiatives.
  • Develop business requirements documents (BRDs), process flows, and functional specifications
  • Leverage DAX and Power Query (M) for calculated fields and data transformation
  • Support NAVSEA and PEO USC financial reporting needs, including budget execution and cost tracking
  • Assist in customer meetings, defining requirements for customer requests, and tracking tasks to achieve long term goals.
  • Participate in the automation of data reporting and integration of multiple data sources
  • Ensure compliance with DoD data governance and cybersecurity standards
  • Assist in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint reviews) and track user stories and tasks in project management tools

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Intelligence, or a related technical field.
  • 1-2 years of experience with Power BI and business analysis in a professional or internship setting
  • Proficiency in SQL and Excel for data manipulation and analysis
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA and/or PEO USC financial systems and processes
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Familiarity with Office 365, SPO, and Power Platform(Automate, Apps , and BI)
  • Experience writing requirements documents, use cases, or workflow diagrams
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)

Desired Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizen with anActive Secret Clearance (Final or Interim)
  • Experience with Navy enterprise systems or defense acquisition processes
  • Power BI certification (e.g., PL-300)
  • Working knowledge of DoD compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53, RMF)
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 certification
  • Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile tools

Work Schedule: Hybrid M-F, 0800-1600

Compensation and Benefits:

The projected compensation range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000. There are numerous factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the role, work location, education/certifications, and a contract's Labor Categories.
