1.0 FTE / 40 hours per week.

The Mammography Quality Control Technologist develops, implements, and performs quality control testing at all clinical sites where there are primary activities associated with Mammography. Additionally, they perform mammography procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures and may also perform general imaging as directed. The Mammography Quality Control Technologist works under the general direction and supervision of the Medical Imaging Manager and receives daily guidance and direction from the Radiologic Technologist Team Leaders.

Job Specific Minimum Qualifications



  1. Graduation from an accredited school of Radiology Technology is required.
  2. Registered Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and registered Mammography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
  3. Valid Wisconsin Radiographer license is required.
  4. A minimum of three (3) years of radiology experience including mammography is required. Previous Quality Control experience is highly desirable.
  5. Possession of or eligibility for a valid Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certificate is required. Employee must obtain certification within four (4) months of employment.
  6. Ability to travel to various work sites is required. Must be able to provide personal transportation. Possession of a valid, Wisconsin driver license if the employee is operating a motor vehicle is required.
  7. As assigned, float to other work sites/clinics to serve as backup and provide coverage during staff absences, position vacancies or when patient needs exceed staffing resources.
  8. Maintenance of current continuing medical education credits is required.
  9. Knowledge of general and breast anatomy is required.
  10. Knowledge of the physical and operational characteristics of radiographic and mammography equipment is required.
  11. Knowledge of the principles and practices utilized in radiographic and mammographic examinations. Knowledge of radiation exposure techniques is required.
  12. Ability to recognize normal and abnormal structures in order to tailor the exam to answer the clinical question is required.
  13. Knowledge of medical records and appropriate documentation is required.
  14. Knowledge of and ability to adhere to OSHA standards and other patient care protocols is required.
  15. Knowledge of contrast media is required
  16. Good mathematical and analytical skills are required.
  17. Good communication and interpersonal skills are required. Excellent customer service skills required.
  18. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality is required. Knowledge of or ability to learn HIPAA requirements.
  19. Ability to be culturally sensitive and work with a diverse patient population is required.
  20. Ability to maintain good working relationships with patients and staff is required.
  21. Ability to stand for up to 90% of a workday is required.
  22. Ability to lift from waist level and carry loads ranging from 15-50 lbs. is required.
  23. Ability to push and pull radiographic equipment is required.
  24. Ability to handle, finger, and control left or right hand, and reach (above shoulder, over 18" and to the floor) is required.
  25. Ability to see with near and mid-range vision is required.
