Job Description: Vitro Architectural Glass is seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Operations Excellence Leader to join our team in Carlisle, PA. This role is pivotal in driving organizational culture and improving process performance through the application of Operational Excellence principles, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma techniques.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities within the facility.
  • Define and manage Lean and Six Sigma projects to achieve committed savings.
  • Support 2 to 4 improvement projects per year, ensuring sustainable changes.
  • Present project progress to Champions and Process Owners.
  • Identify and develop potential Green Belts within the organization.
  • Train employees in analysis, problem-solving, statistics, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in applying Operational Excellence and Lean projects.
  • Proven track record in successful project application of Six Sigma and Lean projects in manufacturing and support areas.
  • Strong decision-making skills based on statistical data.
  • Proficiency in Lean tools such as Problem Solving, 5S, Process Balance, Value Stream Mapping, PDCA, Visual Factory, waste elimination, Kanban, standard work, TPM, bottleneck analysis, Hoshins, and kaizens.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, conflict management, and teamwork skills.
  • Strong training, instruction, and coaching abilities.
  • Recommended: Knowledge of glass making and understanding of operations performance and quality issues in architectural glass.


Working Conditions:



  • Significant time spent in production areas.
  • Non-routine travel required based on project assignments.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for an 8-hour shift.
  • Laptop and statistical software required.
