Job Overview
Design engineers develop and compare alternative layouts or designs, which utilize equipment of various kinds of capabilities in diverse physical arrangements. This may involve consideration of structural, mechanical, and hydraulic features. Examples of tasks for Design Engineers include, working on preliminary designs and specifications and evaluating the numerous and frequent change in design and performance which affect the assigned equipment prior to and during production. Other tasks include, reviewing new approaches to circuitry and power distribution or incorporation of automatic self-test methods in equipment design. Salary Range: 100k-130k Work Model: Onsite
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Working with NIWC Pacific Engineering Design III, will provide engineering & support services for various C2 facilities throughout the period of performance. Services required include AV design and installation of space operations centers fusing mission systems and ops center workstations in a manner that provides quick mission assessment and decisional information to adequately affect kill chain decisions.
- Engineering review of current drawing packages, make requisite changes required to meet requirements and room configurations.
- Prepare pre-installation, test, and checkout documents of all new AV equipment components and subcomponents.
- Cataloging and archiving software media included and/or created for AV equipment.
- Engineering oversite and Installation of AV equipment components and subcomponents in locations specified in the IDP or as otherwise directed by the Government.
- Work closely with Government project managers and engineers to create, revise, print, and maintain information technology and telecommunications systems CAD drawings, models, work instructions, and designs from verbal directions.

- Ability to meet deadlines and exercise judgment in Quality AV Design.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all team members.
- Skilled in effectively managing and prioritizing tasking.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- Bachelor's level degree in an Engineering discipline or Industrial Design.
- Seven (7) years of professional experience in mechanical, structural, or electrical/electronic design.
- Current active TS/SCI Clearance.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
Preferred
- Experience in Audio Visual Engineering & Design well versed in AV Applications.
- Certified Technical Specialist - Design (CTS-D) (AVIXA Certification).
- Certified Quality Designer - (CQD) (AQAV Certification).
- Possess knowledge and skills for monitoring and measuring quality while the AV system is designed and developed through design reviews and engineering review milestones.
Working Conditions:
- Position may be exposed to and is expected to protect internal/external confidential/unclassified information.
- Work is generally performed indoors (sedentary).
- Outdoor work, if any, is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
- Occasional travel may be necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time, sit, use of hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, or smell.
- May include lifting weight up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.
