With a collaborative, team-oriented environment and a focus on continuous innovation, we are driven to grow our technical services capabilities in support of our expanding customer base.
Job Description:
The Link Lab Technician will be integral to our Technical Services teams, working onsite in our Philadelphia office/warehouse facility. This role will be responsible for a variety of responsibilities as needed included, but not limited to, provisioning and managing AV-related devices, building and maintaining AV racks, and overseeing the shipment and upkeep of remote kits for commissioning projects. Additionally, the Link Lab Technician will help maintain the laboratory workspace and support ongoing growth and efficiency initiatives. As a newly formed position, the Link Lab Technician role will evolve with the department's and customers' needs, offering significant opportunities for hands-on learning, professional development, and potential career advancement into programming or other technical roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Device Provisioning: In this role, you will be responsible for opening, connecting, updating, and installing necessary software or firmware on a variety of AV and IT devices. After ensuring each device is configured properly, you will carefully repack equipment for safe shipment or storage. You will also collaborate with the Programming team to load or configure devices according to specific project requirements.
- Rack Fabrication: Working closely with project stakeholders, you will assemble and build AV racks from scratch. This includes mounting components, ensuring proper wiring and labeling, and conducting thorough testing to confirm everything is functioning correctly. Attention to detail and adherence to project specifications are critical to ensure a high-quality build.
- Remote Kit Maintenance & Shipping: You will maintain complete, ready-to-deploy remote commissioning kits. These kits typically include laptops, MiFi hubs, cables, and connectors, packaged in a way that enables quick "plug-and-commission" usage on-site. In addition, you will inspect and refurbish returned kits to confirm they are fully functional and restocked with necessary components. Coordination with both shipping and warehouse teams will be key to ensuring kits reach their destinations on time.
- Lab Maintenance: A crucial part of this role involves maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient lab environment. You will oversee tool and equipment storage, track consumable inventory, and ensure stations are prepared for incoming projects. Keeping the space safe and orderly will directly contribute to successful and timely project execution.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Beyond your immediate team, you will coordinate with warehouse, sales, engineering, and other departments to meet deadlines and uphold quality standards. While direct customer or vendor interactions may occur occasionally, most communication will focus on internal teams to facilitate smooth project hand-offs and address any logistical or technical issues.
- Continuous Improvement & Flexibility: As this is a developing role, you will be expected to adapt to new challenges and evolving project demands. You will have opportunities to identify process enhancements, contribute innovative ideas for increased efficiency, and explore new ways to refine provisioning, rack building, and kit management.
- Additional Responsibilities: From time to time, you may be asked to perform tasks outside the typical scope of device provisioning and rack fabrication. These responsibilities will be assigned to support the overall success of the team and to advance Exertis Almo's growing service offerings.
- Success in this Role will be Measured by: Timely Project Delivery: Meeting production quotas and lead times established through time studies and team benchmarks.
- Quality & Accuracy: Minimizing errors in equipment setup, rack fabrication, and kit preparation.
- Lab Efficiency: Maintaining a well-organized and safe lab environment that fosters productivity.
- Collaboration: Effectively working with cross-functional teams and contributing to a positive team dynamic.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.

- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools for rack assembly.

- Physical & Schedule Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move individual AV components (typically less than 50 lbs).
- Onsite position in Philadelphia; minimal travel required.
- No weekend or off-hour work unless special projects arise and the Technician opts in for additional incentives.
