Compensation Grade: P25Compensation Details: Minimum: $95,599.00 - Maximum: $95,599.00 AnnuallyDepartment (OPH) Office of Public HealthJob Description: Responsibilities The Senior Program Coordinator will lead and supervise a team of staff working to improve Community Health. The Senior Program Coordinator will facilitate enhanced communication, sharing of information, and collaboration between community health programs, providers, and other key stakeholders to improve community health outcomes. The Senior Program Coordinator will work to improve the health of Western New York communities by providing leadership, oversight, technical assistance, and guidance to a team of staff that advise local health departments, community-based organizations, and other community partners within the 17 counties of Western New York. The team will monitor public health data, assist with the identification of public health issues, and work on strategies to promote health equity programming. The team will also conduct contract management, review fiscal management of grant funded programs, and evaluate activities implemented through onsite reviews and workplan assessments. The team will work to improve the health of communities by educating community partners regarding State priorities including implementation of the Prevention Agenda and implementation of the Chronic Disease Action Plan. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of program coordination experience in a public health, health, or human services-related program or community-based organization; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and six years of such experience; OR eight years of such experience. The experience must have been contributing toward the development, implementation and/or evaluation of a program, project or other related activities. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. At least two years of experience must have included supervision of staff and/or program management. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with chronic disease prevention and control activities related to maternal and child health, cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and/or asthma. Experience in oversight and evaluation of public health and preventive health programs. Experience supervising professional staff, coordinating training activities, and contributing on policy development. Experience with contract/program management and provision of technical assistance to service providers. Experience monitoring and evaluating programs and quality improvement activities. Experience managing multiple tasks. Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated experience working independently and as a member of a team. Proficiency with computer-based programs to facilitate communication and collaboration such as Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, WebEx etc. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Travel, up to 25% of the time, may be required. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
