Position Summary:

Children's Aid runs a summer day camp in Chappaqua, NY that brings together children from Manhattan, the Bronx, and Westchester. Campers and staff are bused to and from the camp each day. The purpose of this camp is to provide traditional summer camp activities (swimming, arts & crafts, sports, horsemanship, etc.) in the context of relationship building. The children who attend this camp are from different socio-economic, cultural, and racial backgrounds, and range in age from 6-13

The Kitchen Aide fulfills duties in the kitchen to prepare for three food service meals each day of summer camp: Breakfast, Lunch, and Snack.

Essential Duties:



  • Assist in the preparation of breakfast, lunch, and snacks each day.
  • Prepare additional meals for Parents' Day
  • Accept deliveries, store provisions, and keep track of invoices
  • Maintain the food service in accordance with Dept of Health, USDA, and ACA.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the eating areas between the lunch sessions.
  • Wash lunch trays as needed.
  • Keep Kitchen clean and orderly
  • Dispose of all garbage and recycling in proper dumpsters.
  • Prepare food as directed by the supervisor.
  • Work closely with other kitchen staff to divide up responsibilities at the direction of the supervisor.


Minimum Qualifications:





    • Entry level position.
    • Previous food service experience preferred.
