Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and supplier
- Coordinates workflow of material, hardware, and components within and/or between work areas within the test complex to accomplish rocket engine/component testing.
- Provide logistical support for all said material, hardware, components and tubing between work units including but not limited to the Test Complexes, Component Processing Facility, calibration lab, shop areas and Warehouse.
- Provide procurement support and submitting purchase requests (PRs) for requesting the purchase of materials and components.
- Ability to do vendor interface/research, ensuring goods/services and cost meet budget and project schedules.
- Pickup/delivery from warehouse, weld shop, machine shop and component shop
- Inventory of consumables and reorder/restock as required.
- Component Service Request (CSR) writing/processing.
- Comply with all applicable safety and health related rules, regulations, and procedure
- Assist supervisors and managers in identifying and mitigating potentially hazardous conditions.
- Help the organization maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
- All other duties as assigned.
REQUISITE SKILLS:
- Experience with government facilities and programs desirable but not necessary.
- A working knowledge of the English language is required.
- The candidate shall be able to operate in a team environment, and shall have good interpersonal, reporting and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Following Safety Regulations adhering to safety standards and regulations, including OSHA and other local codes.
- Communicating with Clients/Customers explaining potential availability/delivery issues to customers, outlining suitable options, and recommending alternatives as required.
- Good time management, organizational, and planning skills are required.
- Ability to pay close attention.
- Ability to interface with various levels of personnel in a multi-cultural, team oriented environme
- Review drawings, work documents and program scheduled in conjunction with coordinated efforts of NASA Test Directors and Sierra Lobo area management, to establish priorities of hardware need dates to support all associated test programs.
- Research of hardware specifications based on affiliated systems, drawing requirements, and customer needs for procurement of program material, hardware, components, and tubing for both electrical and mechanical needs.
- Communicate and interface with vendors for technical issues concerning component capabilities and limitations.
- Manages pickup and delivery, receipt, storage and issuance of tools, material, hardware, and components.
- Interface with NASA Test Conductors, Team Leads and Test Operations to coordinate propellant and/or gas and K-bottle deliveries with the SLI Propellant Logistics Coordinator.
- Understanding of system clean level requirements in support of initiating and submitting CSRs to the Component Shop.
- Knowledge of PM/CM requirements for relief valves.
- Must maintain a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork.
- Ability to operate computers proficiently. Desire a working knowledge of MAXIMO, DDMS, CSR system, MS Office Skills (Word, Excel).
- Ability to work independently but follow specific detailed instructions.
- Ability to interface with all NASA, inside/outside vendors, management, and technician workforce.
- Overtime may be required to perform duties and occasional efforts are required outside of the normal work schedule.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Eight (8) years of propulsion test operations as an Engineering Technician or 6 years or related site experience with a related 2 year degree.
- Extensive knowledge of both electrical and mechanical components and hardware for systems of the test complex environment
- Must have sufficient mobility to enter all areas of test facilities; crawl, climb, ascend/descend stairs daily, etc.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Dexterity to operate office equipment as required by the position.
- Must meet and be able to maintain all certification requirements required for work area.
- Must be a U. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
