As a Direct Support Specialist, you'll play a lead role in serving people with intellectual and development disabilities. Who will love this job: An advocate -- you will stop at nothing to make sure people have the tools necessary to do set them up for success A go-getter - you're always looking for ways to add value, do better work, improve processes, build others up, and make the world a better place A mediator - you naturally draw people together while remaining calm and focused, even in emotionally charged situations Here's what you'll do as a Direct Support Specialist: Monitor the comfort and safety of the people we serve while ensuring the medical, nutritional and personal care needs are being met Provide training according to the written program plan for people served, covering all aspects of the person's life as assigned and in compliance with company policy and procedure. Serve and emotionally support the people we serve in a therapeutic manner using techniques proven to reinforce appropriate individual behavior Maintain detailed documentation of each person's medical, social, and program progress Provide support and transportation to appropriate leisure time and community activities Assist people served in the handling of money and finances Complete assigned cleaning tasks as schedule to maintain a neat and clean environment Commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Belonging: At Mosaic, we believe in creating a workplace where everyone has the chance to contribute and succeed.
