Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronic Warfare (EW) Engineer with current EW experience to join our team supporting the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) at either Nellis AFB or Edwards AFB. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in electronic warfare systems, particularly relevant to advanced fighters and bombers, including 5th generation platforms and B-2 bomber and associated EW systems. This role requires a deep understanding of EW flight testing, system integration, and data analysis to support the development and operational testing activities of the USAF.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Electronic Warfare Expertise: Utilize extensive experience in the field of Electronic Warfare (EW) flight testing, including low observable survivability, electronic support measures, electronic attack, radio frequency, and infrared countermeasure integration, compatibility, and effectiveness.
  • Technical Guidance: Offer technical mentorship and guidance to the test squadron engineering teams, squadron leadership, customer organizations for Developmental Test (DT) & Operational Test (OT), and High-End Tactics and Training groups on best practices and uses for EW testing.
  • Program Office Support: Support various USAF and NAVAIR system program offices in relation to EW testing.
  • Test Strategy Development: Develop test strategies, concepts, objectives, measures of performance, and test methodologies related to EW simulation events for use in the Joint Simulation Environment.
  • Data Requirements Definition: Define data requirements for systems under test/training, including threat and environmental measurement systems, and scenario resources.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with Operations, Integration, and Program Management teams throughout all phases of simulation event planning, execution, analysis, anomaly investigation, and reporting.
  • Advisory Role: Advise and assist simulation scenario developers in interpreting user requirements related to threat laydown and usage, Electronic Attack (EA), Electronic Protection (EP), and Electronic Support (ES).
  • Test Support Planning: Prepare test support plans and data analysis plans to ensure comprehensive test and training scenarios.
  • Verification & Validation (V&V): Review and advise on system requirements, establishing V&V Methodologies for EW testing, developing a detailed V&V process within the squadron to ensure traceability to requirements for testing accomplished
  • Development of Mission Materials: Develop mission materials, including detailed test procedures/test cards, route planning, and threat emitter scripting.
  • Real-Time Monitoring: Develop real-time data monitoring displays for effective data analysis.
  • Control Room Support: Provide control room test support in the engineering discipline role.
  • Data Processing and Analysis: Process and analyze data, assess system under test/training performance, develop conclusions and recommendations, and generate report-quality data products.
  • Report Generation: Write test/training status reports, watch item reports, deficiency reports, and formal and informal technical reports.
  • Flexibility & Adaptiveness: Flexibility and willingness to perform tasks beyond the primary scope of EW, supporting customer tasks based on operational needs. This role will serve as a means to grow company presence in EW and V&V activities within the squadron

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8+ years' experienceworking with EW systems in a research, development, or test environment.
  • 15+ years' experienceis highly desired.
  • Specific experience with 5th Generationor B-2 EW systems is strongly preferred.
  • Current and comprehensive EW experience is essential.
  • Experience with V&V processes and tools as well as requirements traceability strongly preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field is required; Engineering preferred.
  • Master's degree in an Engineering field is desired.

Travel:

  • Up to 20% travel to support customer testing events

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Secret Clearance with the ability to gain and maintain program access.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance is required.
  • Active Top Secret clearance is desired.

U.S. Citizenship is required.

The pay range for this position in California is $XXX,000/year to $XXX,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
