The Associate IT Specialist participates in the installation, removal, and relocation of all computer hardware within the Enterprise Data Centers under the direction of others. This role will support the planning, installing, and maintaining of large hardware and fiber cabling within data centers and other building facilities.
- Support the planning, coordinating, installing, relocating, and removal of large-scale computer and peripheral equipment along with the associated changes of building facilities.
- Maintain customer satisfaction over the full range of physical plant services provided by the IT organization.
- Participate in the selection of vendors to support the data center environment
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of a Data Center Infrastructure Management solution
- Interact with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to recommend services and products.
- Handle the installation, removal, and relocation of all computer hardware within the Enterprise Data Centers under the supervision of others
- Under the guidance of others, operate the data hall in a predictable, reliable and robust manner.
- Follow procedures to receive stage, install and connect computer equipment into the data hall under the guidance and supervision of others.
- Install and maintain copper and fiber cabling plants in the data centers.
- Follow procedures to de-install and remove equipment from the data hall.
- Utilize tools to monitor the data hall including power consumption, equipment inlet temperature, life safety events and support equipment alerts.
- Utilize a spare depot to replace failed rack/monitoring/cabling/power components as needed.
- Assist with other projects as may be required to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the group and other business/technical entities.
- Assist and participate with Change Management preparations and implementations, providing technical subject matter expertise.
- Provide periodic 24/7 on-call support of specific functions.
This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H-1B visa. This position is eligible to work in the office three days a week and has the option to work remotely two days a week. - Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or in lieu of a degree, at least 2 years of experience enterprise-wide hardware support (work experience or a combination of education and work experience in the field of enterprise-wide hardware support)
