Overview
As a Nurse Supervisor, you'll be responsible for providing leadership to clinical and non-clinical staff members, and ensuring quality patient care, environmental milieu, therapy and activity programs, nutrition, and patient comfort. This position, Nurse Supervisor (Job Requisition #52698), is open to all State employees and external applicants. Candidates, including current State employees seeking transfer, promotion, demotion, or persons exercising re-employment rights, must pass a fingerprint supported background investigation applicable to the position. Additionally, in accordance with AHS Policy 4.02 - Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates. Hiring managers will notify applicants who are in the final stage of the interview process of the finger-printing and background check requirement, to which an applicant must agree to be deemed eligible for this position. Applicants will have the right to withdraw their applications before finger-printing and/or a background investigation is conducted. Environmental Factors
Duties primarily performed in a clinical and office setting. Work may require travel off-site. Exposure to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, potentially physically and verbally violent patient population and other stressful situations may occur. May be required to work evenings, nights, weekends and extended shifts as the need arises. Minimum Qualifications
Possession of (or eligible for) licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the State of Vermont via a multi-state license AND five (5) years or more of professional nursing experience in the nursing specialty INCLUDING one (1) year or more at a supervisory level OR leading a group or team. NOTE: Must maintain Vermont or multistate licensure as a Registered Nurse as a condition of employment. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Specialty Areas: Psychiatric Geriatric Pediatric/Adolescent Special Requirements
Overtime work is required to maintain minimum staffing levels and for unannounced regulatory inspections and is considered a condition of employment. The ability to work overtime when required is an essential function of this job class. Total Compensation
