GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Student Leadership Co-Op through PSU Lehigh Valley will work in designated areas of Manufacturing & Supply Chain to learn critical functions of the business. The purpose of this program is to bring a selected student(s) from PSU Lehigh Valley through rotations to gain a strong understanding of Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Logistic processes to develop a Continuous Improvement mindset and Operational Leadership skillset. The candidate has the potential to be hired into an open position within Crayola Manufacturing, Logistics or Supply Chain.

The rotations will vary, but may include Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics and/or Continuous Improvement. Throughout each of their rotations the selected student(s) will also meet with Key Members of Supply Chain, Manufacturing Leadership & Human Resources.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supply Chain:

General administrative tasks associated with Supply Chain planning functions. These tasks include all necessary functions for preparing shoppacks for Production planning, distribution of Pre-production samples, residual inventory clean-up, assist with SAP data integrity



  • Responsible for creating shop packs at LVIP, F1& CDC and ensuring data accuracy of all contents.
  • Utilizes Label Matrix to create and maintain labels - will become "superuser" for Label Matrix
  • Responsible for the distribution of Pre-production samples.
  • Monitors Data Dialysis and takes appropriate action to maintain Master Data and communicates to Planners when needed. Serves as a liaison to the BIC team for the Supply Chain Department.
  • Assist in identification and disposition of OSMI.
  • Trained Backfill for scheduler or planner for short-term coverage.
  • Support Raw Material planners with confirming PO delivery dates with Suppliers.
  • Purchases stock supply items including labels, ribbon through Ariba.
  • Preparing presentations, reports, and analysis including schedule adherence and attainment.


Manufacturing/Distribution Work

Support Manufacturing and Distribution by being trained and performing operating roles within Manufacturing and Distribution. Four weeks may be spent in Manufacturing, the another four weeks may be spent in the Crayola Distribution Center. Learning by the process of doing the work.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Trained on Crayola Operating System (COS). Apply COS training to their work in Manufacturing.
  • Train on production line -understand manufacturing processes and run lines.
  • Train in handpack at the Crayola Distribution center.
  • Report out learnings in Manufacturing/Distribution.


Continuous Improvement:

Supports Continuous Improvement initiatives through data collection. Provides data analysis for the improvement of process efficiency. Learn principals of CI and apply understanding of manufacturing/distribution work in their first rotation.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Provide routine support to collect process data for continuous improvement projects.
  • Develop & revise standard work
  • Problem solving and report out of project work.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:



  • Working towards a higher education degree preferably in Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Logistics or Supply Chain discipline


  • Ability to multi-task in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work various hours and shifts.
  • Knowledge of computer software applications (e.g. Excel, Word)
  • Ability to communicate and report findings
