Overview

The role focuses on managing transportation, logistics, imports, and exports while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. Responsibilities include preparing shipment documents, maintaining reports and metrics, optimizing transportation strategies, negotiating rates, and monitoring regulatory compliance. The position also involves improving logistics systems, analyzing cost-effective transport solutions, reviewing environmental and government regulations, and supporting trade compliance audits.



Responsibilities

    Ensure timely, cost-effective, and safe transportation of materials.
  • Develop logistics processes for shipments to locations without a local presence.
  • Prepare and manage shipping and export documentation for domestic and international shipments.
  • Organize global shipping and delivery efficiently.
  • Review freight rates and transportation costs to minimize expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, regulatory, and company policies.
  • Recommend optimal transportation strategies, including modes, routes, and equipment.
  • Advise management on transportation contracts, systems, and service levels.
  • Monitor key performance metrics to control supply chain costs.
  • Build and maintain logistics relationships to improve supply chain efficiency.
  • Negotiate with customers and suppliers.
  • Track and report shipment performance.
  • Develop and enhance trade compliance processes for import/export operations.
  • Manage Power of Attorney for logistics providers.
  • Implement procedures to optimize duty and tax reductions.
  • Monitor imports/exports through CBP ACE system and oversee customs brokers.
  • Maintain regulatory record-keeping for import/export activities.
  • Establish and document standard operating procedures.
  • Address and resolve shipping complaints, lost items, and damages.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
  • Ability to develop relationships and influence various levels of management
  • Ability to recommend solutions to manager and senior management
  • Able to work in a very fast paced environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with CBP ACE system, including report extraction and creation.
  • 4-5 years of domestic and international logistics experience in the airline industry.
  • Knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff System and geographical trade differences.
  • Understanding of Export Control regulations (US, Europe, Asia).
  • Experience with aviation ERP software (preferred).
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Strong English proficiency (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving mindset and adaptability to shifting priorities.
  • Professional demeanor, integrity, honesty, and strong work ethic.
  • Flexibility to work outside scheduled hours as needed.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to the role.

Salary Range: $60,500 - $81,500

Financial offer within the stated range will be based on multiple factors to include but not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset.
