The Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) RN Clinical Coordinator will utilize the nursing process to provide optimal quality and continuity of nursing care from the initial patient consultation through the complete episode of care. The MFM RN Clinical Coordinator will develop a plan of care specific to each patients' needs based on the clinical assessment. The RN Clinical Coordinator will work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide patient and family education, communication with health care providers, and coordination and facilitation of services within the episode of care.

This is a part-time (0.8) position working Monday - Thursday from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm out of our Edina location.

Maternal Fetal Consultants is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.


Essential Functions:

  • Manage patients across the health care continuum to achieve the optimal clinical, financial, operational and satisfaction outcomes. This includes patients seen at all Maternal-Fetal medicine sites as Complete OB patients.
  • Act as one point of contact for patients, physicians, and care providers throughout the patient's care in the MFM Clinic.
  • Initiate/implement transition functions and activities for patients communicating with patients, families and the health care team & referring provider to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Collaborate with the health care team partners and patients/family to manage outpatient care and transition to inpatient.
  • Provide care, education and support for patients during pregnancy terminations.
  • Once the patient has transitioned to inpatient will stay in contact with the health care team and coordinate care as necessary through discharge.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvement activities to achieve optimal clinical, financial and satisfaction outcomes.
  • Demonstrate ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
  • Demonstrate effective communication being a critical link with attending & consulting physicians and all health care team members and payers. Facilitates resolution to any identified issues.
  • Serve as expert resource to patients, families and staff
  • Participate in ongoing educational activities to expand nursing scope of practice knowledge and enhance role performance.
  • Utilize research to identify, examine, validate and evaluate knowledge, theories and practice. Participates in clinical research as required. Prepares IRB proposal.
  • Remain flexible and responsive when changes occur in patient activity and workload.
  • Adhere to the scope of practice for the Registered Professional Nurse per state regulatory guidelines.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned


Education and Experience Requirements:



  • RN: Diploma graduate from an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's Degree (BSN) or Associate's Degree (ADN) in nursing from an accredited college
  • Previous Labor and Delivery experience required
  • MFM, NST and biophysical profile experience required
  • 5 years clinical experience


  • Current licensure as a RN in the State of MN
  • Current CPR certification required or completed upon hire.

  • Travel to other work locations, if required
