What you'll be doing...

The Verizon CyberSecurity (VCS) team is seeking a highly motivated Security consultant III to join the Governance, Risk and Compliance team. This role will be on the Continuous Monitoring, Issues & Insights team and will be responsible for actively overseeing and analyzing systems and processes to ensure ongoing adherence to relevant regulations and internal policies. To do this, they will utilize automated tools to detect potential compliance issues in real-time, and take corrective actions to maintain a compliant posture, often including reporting findings to management and collaborating with different departments to address identified risks. Essentially, it's a role focused on maintaining a constant state of compliance through proactive monitoring and data analysis, along with driving the remediation of issues identified through other GRC functions. The work this individual contributor performs is critical to reducing risk and providing solutions that protect our company, our employees and our shareholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Issues Management:

  • Conduct root cause analyses and identify patterns of issues

  • Recommend process improvements and remediation plans

  • Maintain records of issues, decisions, and next steps

  • Report out to stakeholders and leadership on risk trends and issue resolutions

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or three or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.

  • Experience in IT and cyber/information security.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Proven ability to track observations/gaps/vulnerabilities in support of compliance/audit efforts.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Experience with ServiceNow functionality.
