Concrete Paving Superintendent

William Charles Construction, a MasTec company, is hiring a Concrete Paving Superintendent in Champaign, IL and surrounding areas.

The Concrete Paving Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from start to finish. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the successful execution of construction for agency projects. The Concrete Paving Superintendent must possess a strong knowledge of fundamental paving practices, techniques, and regulations, and adhere to William Charles Construction's safety standards and protocols.

Coordinate and supervise construction activities to ensure project completion within budget and on schedule.
• Supervise and manage all field operations related to concrete paving activities.
• Plan and schedule daily paving operations in coordination with project managers and other site superintendents.
• Ensure all work executed in accordance with project specifications, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
• Manage and lead paving crews, including hiring, training, and evaluating field personnel.
• Manage all phases of concrete construction, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Plan and schedule construction activities, including resource allocation and equipment coordination.
• Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts.
• Provide guidance and leadership to the construction team, including subcontractors and trade labor.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with project requirements.
• Resolve construction issues and conflicts, including coordination with project stakeholders.
• Manage project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and change orders.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent related field experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on civil focused concrete construction projects.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of Gomaco Paving Equipment and Topcon Survey Equipment
• A strong understanding of concrete materials, techniques, and quality control best practices.
• In-depth knowledge of IDOT, MoDot and INDOT, regulations, and best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in basic computer skills and construction management software.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
