Description
POSITION SUMMARY Under direct supervision, performs on-site servicing, repair, and installation of company products, and can safely work in spaces with limited egress (openings no larger than 24 inches in diameter in some cases). This job may include any aspect of product field support, including system hardware and software, and systems networking. This role requires adherence to confined space regulations and the proper use of safety equipment and protocols. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Services equipment and/or products at customer sites or service center to include all contracted preventative maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, consumable changes, installations, and start-ups.
- Ability to interpret operation manuals to determine the root cause of tool failures.
- Provides documentation of preventative maintenance, downtime, issues, and time spent preparing reports for product movement and justification for on-site service. Must show proficiency with using customers system.
- Perform preventive maintenance with little supervision.
- Ordering, expediting, and notifying customers or management when replacement of the product is necessary.
- Diagnose mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures using service maintenance checklists and protocols.
- Comply with Finesse training for proper maintenance of parts usage and transactions.
- Under supervision and direction, must have the ability to perform installation activities on CMP equipment covered under phase one (dock/level and interconnection) of tool installation or just before the power-on process.
- Complies with EBARA's safety policies, including participation in and completion of all required safety training.
- Maintains clean and safe working environment compliant with Ebara and customer safety policies.
- Capable of entering confined spaces for service-related tasks, including but not limited to:
- Working near storage tanks, abatement, pumps, and vaults (access openings typically 18-24 inches in diameter)
- Underground utility enclosures, or interstitial spaces, and or manholes (vertical access, 24-36 inches in diameter)
- Piping or ductwork systems (crawlspaces less than 5 ft high or wide)

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Competency Statement(s)
- The ability to lift 35 lbs. unassisted from the floor to waist level.
- The ability to read and work from electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams.
- The ability to perform the identified essential functions of the classification, including the operation of any machinery and/or equipment that is associated with performing the essential functions.
- The ability to perform the identified essential functions in a confined space environment:
- Maneuvering and troubleshooting in a space(s) with limited egress openings no larger than 24 inches (essential)
- Maneuvering and troubleshooting in a space(s) with restricted openings as small as 18 inches. (essential)
- Maneuvering and troubleshooting in a space(s) less than 5 ft in dimension for prolonged periods. (essential)
- The ability to perform the essential functions of the position in a cross-cultural, demanding, and dynamic environment.
- The ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat of harm to him/herself, others or property.
- The ability to adhere to EBARA personnel policies and practices, including the attendance and punctuality requirements.
- The ability to work well under pressure, meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines, and always demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
- If a respirator is used in this role, the ability to successfully PASS the annual respirator fit test and medical exam is required. (essential)
Education
- High School or AS Associate of Science degree in Electronics, or completion of an accredited basic electronics program, or equivalent experience.
Experience
- Preferred: Four (4) to Six (6) years of work-related experience, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
- Working knowledge of mechanical skills. Working knowledge of principles of semiconductor and/or vacuum technology.
- Strong Customer Relations skills.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot down to a component level.
- Working knowledge of computer systems, including software packages such as Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal colleagues and customers.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills. Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Provide verification of a good driving record if servicing customers off-site.
