Designer I needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client to onsite in Bridgeton, MO. Contract Length: 12 months, possible to convert to client FTE Our client is seeking a Designer I for their Bridgeton, MO facility. The Designer I will support the design services team by creating and updating routine mechanical and electrical designs for existing product parts, subassemblies, assemblies, and/or systems configurations using CAD systems. The ideal candidate would have CREO 9.0 or above experience. Job Responsibilities Support and participate in technical design and drafting activities Draw multiple views; depict relationship of component and parts; identify dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerances, and materials; prepare bills of material and specifications; create documentation required and processing Engineering Change Orders; ensure adherence to designated quality and cost parameters; use CAD systems Use computer aided design tools to create and update integrated 3D CAD/CAM/CAE mechanical modeling and drawing solutions Responsible for completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements Work closely with an engineering team to detail systems and mechanical designs Ensure quality of drawings Maintain technical knowledge by conferring with technical specialists and suppliers; attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies Provide progress status for mechanical design assignments periodically Participate in resolution of technical issues within the company and outside suppliers Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customers as required Ability to work independently under supervision of others Attend and participate in appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization Qualifications Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Able to work independently and as a member of a team Excellent analytical and communication skills, written and verbal Experience with using 3D modeling software such as Pro/Engineer, SolidWorks, CREO, Unigraphics, etc. Ability to read and understand commercial and/or military mechanical drawings Experience using Microsoft Office tools Employment Prerequisites The following requirements must be met to be eligible for this position: successful completion of a background investigation and drug urinalysis.
