We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Plainview, NY. This role is critical to the delivery of Engineer-to-Order (ETO) and Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) for our semiconductor capital equipment Responsibilities:
- Design and enhance electrical systems for advanced ion beam deposition equipment, including RF sources, high power DC, and sophisticated control systems.
- Develop and integrate control algorithms to ensure precise operation of ion beam sources and optimize deposition processes.
- Architect and program PLC-based control systems for automation and control of semiconductor process systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in control systems to minimize customer downtime and ensure smooth product transitions by supporting Manufacturing and Field Service teams.
- Design and implement critical safety systems adhering to industry standards (like SEMI S2) and regulations, including performing risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
- Conduct testing and validation of electrical components and systems to ensure peak performance and reliability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and other teams on design reviews, troubleshooting, and contributing to research and development initiative
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of related experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience is required. Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Autocad, analog/digital circuit design (schematic design, layout, testing, release), electrical interface design, and the capability to create and troubleshoot electrical schematics. Hands-on experience with lab equipment like logic analyzers and oscilloscopes is essential.
- Problem-Solving: You are a critical thinker who anticipates system effects of design decisions, challenges concepts, analyzes alternatives, and has strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, capable of anticipating and resolving roadblocks.
- Collaboration & Communication: Ability to multi-task, work effectively in a cross-functional, matrixed organization, and possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Nice to Have (Skills & Experience that are a Plus): Direct commercial experience with semiconductor capital equipment or a similar technical field, knowledge of SEMI S2, experience with RF supplies, vacuum equipment, motion/automation, CE, UL, TUV, and RoHS regulatory experience. Experience designing equipment for cleanroom environments and experience with electronics subsystem design (schematic capture, PCB layout, board assembly prototyping) are also beneficial.
- Ability to travel regionally 25% of month
The expected salary range for this position is $97,612.00-123,641.00, plus a bonus opportunity.
