Job Description
Join the our time as an Arch Energy Project Engineer
Setting up the prepurchase project early for successful completion is imperative, and the Project Engineer starts that process. Arch has developed a set of systematic SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) in order to ensure that the equipment is bought correctly and the team is aware of what they are getting and when. Being flexible to the project team's requirements. We are looking to be best in class service to our clients and project teams. Responsiveness, accuracy, promptness, positive attitude and eagerness are some of the characteristics we are looking for in a new team member.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Review project requirements and timeline with project team via purchasing kickoff meeting
  • Develop, distribute and update weekly Purchasing timeline anticipated to the project team.
  • Review project documents and identify prepurchase list of equipment to be pre-purchased.
  • Compile documents into file sharing software/location.
  • Determine list of qualified vendors to distribute RFP to, and distribute with links/copies of documents
  • Submit any RFI's from design review, make recommendations for alternate products to project team
  • Provide weekly pricing updates to project team, with update of purchasing timeline. Attend project meetings to inform team as required.
  • Develop scope/leveling sheet with list of vendors - ensure it complies with specifications/drawings
  • Receive and compile vendor pricing on leveling sheet.
  • Review and include CDE, specification compliance from each vendor - include on leveling sheet
  • Provide draft of scope/leveling sheet to project team.
  • Schedule descope meetings with vendors, owners, design team, Consigli/Arch staff to review scopes
  • Attend and run the descope meetings. Walk the team through each vendor independently and clarify any scope that isn't included. Request vendors adjust pricing to comply with revisions discussed at descope meetings.
  • Prepare a prepurchase Proposal, including leveling sheets, scope, lead times, quotes and vendor comparisons.
  • Create an Equipment Responsibility Matrix for each piece of equipment - and distribute and review with the project team. Providing a coordinated document such as this can be provided to the other Purchasing Agents buying HVAC, Electrical subcontractors to ensure they are picking up any scope that the Prepurchase equipment scope is not carrying. This eliminates scope gaps in the future and ensures all parties are on the same page with scope.
  • Follow up with the project team as required, adjust proposals as required until accepted.
  • Attend weekly Prepurchase Equipment Proposals meeting with department to review and update each project's status. Keep updated status of all your projects and status - assist in maintaining the database/spreadsheet.
  • Facilitate technical questions through the vendors as required for the project team during the purchasing phase. Attend any project meetings requested during submittal process in the event scope clarification needs to be done.
  • Attend site visits and factory visits on occasion as required with other project teams.
  • Develop and maintain list of equipment lead times for MEP equipment that we often purchase. Maintain and update this list with Arch Team.
  • Develop and maintain list of vendors within each region for each type of equipment that we purchase.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with vendors and project teams internal to Consigli in each region. People want to work with people they "know, like and trust". Required Experience
  • 5+ years experience
  • Engineering Degree preferred


Training and Mentoring
  • Attend Lunch and Learns with other Arch/MEP Department events for learning more about specific new equipment and technologies.
  • Attend training seminars, classes and trade conferences as required to develop relationships with vendors and learn about new technology, new vendors and equipment - keep up to date with the market.
  • Mentor and teach other team members. Help develop staff to best practices. Always strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of your work. Participate and contribute to Lessons Learned and Best Practices database.
