Temple University's Health and Well-Being Department is searching for a Clinical Director for Student Health Services.

The Clinical Director for Student Health Services (SHS) provides basic primary medical care to students and manages clinical operations at all SHS locations. They assure that adequate, safe, and timely nursing and provider services are made available to all students. All SHS clinical staff report directly or indirectly to the Clinical Director. The Clinical Director participates in policy making and program planning, and collaborates with the Director of Adm and Finance, Nurse Manager and the HSC Assistant Clinical Director in overall departmental administration. They assume overall responsibility for clinical quality improvement, in-service and continuing education of the staff.

FUNCTION/DUTY PERCENT OF TIME

1. Administration 40%

2. Providing Direct Patient care 60%

Essential Funcation:
*Recruitment of clinical staff physicians, nurses, CRNPs and medical assistants.
*Supervision and performance evaluation of Physicians, CRNPs, Nurse Manager and other clinical staff.
*Assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, assuring conformance with the appropriate University policies.
*Promoting health education and illness prevention initiatives throughout the University.
*Facilitate communication Department leadership and clinical staff
*Provides primary medical care to Temple University students: assesses and manages students with acute episodic and chronic illness on an appointment and walk-in basis.
*Coordinates follow-up for patients.
*Provides medical oversight to nursing and staff, including CRNPs, RNs and medical assistants.
*Assists in the development of medical and nursing protocols.
*Care is rendered at the two different Temple University sites: Health Sciences Center and Main Campuses. The position is primarily based on Main Campus. Saturday coverage is on Main Campus.
*Participates in staff meetings, quality improvement projects and committees as appropriate.
*Assists in the coordination of outreach in cooperation with other departments, where appropriate, for specific medical issues, e.g., immunization programs for health sciences students.
*Promotes health education and illness prevention initiatives throughout the University.
*Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. Board certified or board eligible in family medicine, internal medicine, or emergency medicine. If board-eligible, you must pass boards within two years of hire. Experience in college health required.

Required Skills and Abilities
*Must be organized, detail oriented and able to complete tasks in a timely manner.
*Must have a customer service orientation and the ability to interact with professionalism and tact under stress.
*Must be proficient with applications such as Microsoft Office, various practice management/EHR solutions and be able to adapt to new technology.
