Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Onsite Requirement: A couple of days onsite required and travel to different sites.

Job Summary: LCG seeks a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead the Applications Modernization Project, a mission-critical initiative to replace legacy .NET and DB2-based systems that support summer hiring and administrative workflows.

This role demands extensive experience managing large-scale IT design and implementation projects, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams. The Senior Project Manager will guide the project from planning through deployment, ensuring alignment with clients' strategic goals and compliance with technical, security, and accessibility standards.

Key Responsibilities



  • Lead and manage end-to-end project lifecycle activities for the client Application Modernization Project.
  • Develop, maintain, and report on project schedules, budgets, resource allocations, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client program and technical stakeholders, managing expectations and resolving project-related issues
  • Ensure alignment with client modernization goals including system scalability, cross-browser compatibility, automation, and enhanced reporting.
  • Oversee vendor project delivery to ensure timely completion of milestones and deliverables within scope and budget.
  • Coordinate across multiple client departments to integrate the new solution with existing systems (e.g., Payroll, Collections, etc).
  • Manage team performance and foster effective collaboration between functional and technical teams.
  • Lead status meetings, generate regular progress reports, and escalate risks or issues as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with client technical standards, security protocols, and accessibility requirements (e.g., Section 508).


Qualifications



  • 10+ years of experience managing large-scale IT projects, preferably in public sector or education environments.
  • Proven success leading complex, multi-year system modernization projects with multiple stakeholders and technical components.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification required.
  • Deep familiarity with project management tools and techniques, including scheduling, budgeting, resource management, and risk mitigation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating across development, QA, data, infrastructure, and business analysis teams.
  • Experience with application modernization involving outdated .NET frameworks, database migrations (DB2 to SQL), and modern web platform development.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience delivering IT solutions for K-12 education or government agencies.
  • Background working on projects involve hiring workflows, billing, invoicing, and advanced reporting.
  • Familiarity with data synchronization and integration of multiple systems in large organizations.
  • Experience supporting change management and end-user training efforts.


Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $170,000 to $185,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The target salary is $178,000 for this role. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
