The Salvation Army Midland Division Family Haven Shelter located in St. Louis, Missouri, is looking for a Regional Shelter Administrator. Responsible for the advancement, management (contract, fiscal and personnel), planning, program implementation and development of all facets of the social services known as The Salvation Army Family Haven Shelter, O'Fallon Lodge, Alton Booth House, and Transitional/Permanent Housing Program in coordination with the St. Louis Regional Social Services office.

This is a full-time, exempt position, with the starting salary of $78,233 annually.

Essential Functions

  1. Administers, directs, and coordinates all activities of the identified social service programs integrating the mission of The Salvation Army and the goals of the social services.
  2. Plan, monitor, and manage program budget(s) to maximize revenue used for client services.
  3. Develop and pursue, in collaboration with Development Department, funding resources to support program operation and growth.
  4. Ensures that the activities, policies, procedures, and programs are current and consistent with the policies and directives of The Salvation Army.
  5. Ensure compliance with relevant contractual, funding authority, governmental, licensing, guidelines and requirements.
  6. Maintain data collection and reporting to meet funding and organizational requirements.
  7. Gather relevant statistics from regional shelters of The Salvation Army regularly and develop presentations to use with funding resources.
  8. Develop and implement short- and long-range plans for program development.
  9. Promote a favorable public image of the services and The Salvation Army through marketing and public relations functions.
  10. Represent The Salvation Army at community meetings and promote a favorable public image of The Salvation Army Regional Social Service Programs through community networking.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a related bachelor's degree and six years related work experience with at least two years supervisory experience. Combination of education and experience will be considered. MSW or MBA and LCSW are a plus. Must be a team player, a self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with minimum supervision. Excellent interpersonal, management and communication skills required. Must demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment. Must have reliable transportation, a valid drivers' license and pass TSA MVR.

Physical and Working Conditions

Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include using a computer, answering phones, etc. Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.
