Description

As a Field Sampling Technician, you will perform sample collections in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations for industrial and engineering clientele. You will also be responsible documenting and performing tasks necessary to maintain the integrity of samples and support the analytical data. The position is based out of our Hopkinton, MA office with some travel to Cranston, RI.

This position is responsible for:



  • Perform sample custodial duties including, sample inventory upon receipt, sample storage, sample pick up and delivery and sample disposal.
  • Sample disposal is carried out in a timely manner to allow for storage capacity.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of sampling equipment, which includes, but is not limited to; cleaning, calibration, and storage.


  • Performs routine analysis of equipment to ensure proper cleaning techniques.


  • Ensure that the company vehicle is in proper working order, and ensure that the scheduled maintenance is completed in a timely manner.


  • Follow laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the receipt and handling of sample


  • Maintains current copies of all industrial clients permits issued by their POTW.


  • Schedules industrial clients' sampling in a manner that ensures that they meet the timetable set forth by the industrial users administrative authority.


  • Accountable for accurate documentation in accordance with ESS Laboratory policy and SOPs.


  • Maintains a directory of client directions/locations information including location of manholes and sampling ports.


  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned, including, but not limited to, clerical duties to support the team.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must keep schedules with clients
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Must have ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and work effectively with people.
  • Must be flexible, and detail oriented.


Preferred:



  • Familiarity with laboratory practices
  • Personal computer skills


Travel



  • Daily Travel to client locations are required for this position. Locations including Cranston, RI and Hopkinton, MA and Boston, MA
  • Must have Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
