Network Engineer

Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Engineer to provide technical support for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) at Quantico. This is a full-time position.

Install, configure, operate, and maintain network equipment such as cable, switches, routers, firewalls, network monitoring devices, and network management platforms.
• Identify and analyze network
• Provide network engineering and technical services on AFOSI operational enclaves, AFOSI to AFNET points of presence and local testing network.
• Build and implement network solutions, install, and maintain network equipment, and troubleshoot/resolve network issues.
• Develop and maintain network baseline documentation in accordance with configuration management standards.

5 years experience in IT with at least three years experience in network engineering/administration. Bachelor's degree in a related field desired. Must be Security+ certified (or hold an equivalent certification in compliance with DoD 8570 IAT Level II). Cisco certification desired. Knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), SolarWinds is a plus. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining network equipment with thorough knowledge of routers and switches. Experience with Cisco Multilayer network routers and switches. Must have hands-on experience with Juniper SRX and Palo Alto firewalls. Experience with network monitoring and management using an automated solution. Able to assess infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions. Extensive experience with security as it pertains to network architecture, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS). Able to provide technical guidance and direction to system administrators and help desk technicians. Experience with USAF IT environment and networks desired. Must have good communication skills and an ability to conceptualize network infrastructures. Able to work independently or as part of a team and interact professionally within all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI).
