Talgo Inc. refurbishes passenger railcars for LA MetroLink at our Milwaukee facility, focusing on high quality mechanical and structural work to extend the service life of the railcars for another 30 years.

We are looking for individuals with hands-on mechanical engineer to support production and process improvements. This role works closely with the design and manufacturing teams to support testing, resolve technical issues, and ensure quality standards are met across railcar components. What You'll Do:



  • Support the mechanical installation, assembly, and testing of train components
  • Develop and review technical specifications for systems and client requirements
  • Troubleshoot production issues and advise on design or process improvements
  • Collaborate with technical staff to resolve electrical and mechanical issues
  • Analyze and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and manuals
  • Coordinate and inspect final installations to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards


What We're Looking For:



  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required
  • 1-3 years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering (rail or manufacturing preferred)
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD tools (ProE or AutoCAD preferred)
  • Experience with SAP and analog circuit simulation tools (e.g., PSPICE)
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)


Physical and Other Requirements:



  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, or climb around railcars or shop floor areas
  • Valid driver's license required
