What You'll Do:
- Perform basic mechanical tasks under supervision, including underframe cleaning and general facility/railcar cleaning
- Assist with incoming/outgoing inspections and install platform steps and grab handles
- Use precision measuring tools (calipers, tape, gauges) to verify work meets standards
- Collaborate with team leads to support training and mentorship
- Follow standard work instructions and document progress using basic computer tools
What We're Looking For:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Technical certification is a plus)
- 3+ years of professional mechanical experience (automotive, aircraft, motorcycle, heavy equipment, etc.)
- Experience working with braking systems on large vehicles or equipment (e.g. railcars, aircraft, or heavy-duty trucks)
- Proficient with hand and power tools such as torque wrenches and basic measuring instruments
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and maintenance documentation
- Strong math skills and comfort with both standard and metric systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
Physical and Other Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Frequently required to stand, walk and perform manual tasks
- Occasionally required to kneel, stoop, climb, or work at heights of up to 20 feet
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and under railcars
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
