Duties and Responsibilities |
The Chaplain for Ignatian Spirituality works in collaboration with the Director of Ignatian Spirituality to provide pastoral presence, spiritual direction, sacramental leadership, and public presentations on Jesuit, Catholic mission and identity. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: Support the programming of Mission Integration and Ignatian Spirituality:
- Present in Loyola 201: Partners in Mission new staff orientation.
- Present in the All Things Ignatian Staff Seminar and Faculty Seminar in Mission Integration.
- Assist in coordination of Ignatian Heritage Month, especially engaging the Jesuit Community.
- Consult in the development, facilitation and presentation of other mission integration workshops for faculty and staff as assigned.
- Provide instruction and supervision for the Internship in Spiritual Direction in the Ignatian Tradition
Provide spiritual direction and pastoral presence:
- Act as spiritual director in monthly individual direction, the Ignatian Contemplation Retreat, the Busy Person Retreat, Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life or other similar programs as might develop.
- Provide pastoral support for faculty, staff, administrators, and students as requested
Sacramental Leadership:
- Celebrate the sacraments with the Loyola community, especially as part of the Madonna Della Strada Chapel team and at the Health Sciences Campus

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience |
- Master's degree in theology or a social science-related area.
- Two years of ministry experience.
- Must be a priest of the Society of Jesus.

Qualifications |
- Master of Divinity
- Ten years of ministerial experience in a pastoral setting
- Ability to describe the history, traditions, and values of Jesuit education.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and an aptitude for dealing with confidential and sensitive issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills and public speaking
- Validly ordained Roman Catholic, Jesuit priest in good standing
