Location: This position is full-time on-site in Dover, NH. The position holder will need to be within commuting distance (within 45 min).

R&D Electrical Automation Engineer III Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • As key technical member of the project team, be a key member of a diverse team of professionals developing custom automation solutions for our customers complex challenges.
  • Designs, programs, simulates, and tests automated machinery to streamline manufacturing processes. Considers automation workflow, production layout, and safety measures when designing automated machinery processes.
  • Lead the design, programming, and integration of electrical automation systems.
  • Evaluate and drives implementation of new methods or technologies for continual improvement of quality, safety and efficiency.
  • Manage new equipment procurement projects by interfacing with outside vendors, developing engineering specifications, and drafting and reviewing qualification protocols.
  • Creates and revises manufacturing documents, specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety instructions, validation protocols, risk assessments, and procedures and other technical documents to ensure compliant, efficient and safe procedures.
  • Adheres to international and local regulatory standards for design, process, and safety considerations.
  • Develop timelines, scope of work, project plans, and cost estimates for development programs/tasks, providing timely communication on program progress.
  • Leads design of experiments, validation, completion of testing and analysis of data.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to more junior engineers and technicians.
  • Troubleshooting of complex automation system issues to discover root cause and implement permanent solutions.
  • Other miscellaneous tasks as may be assigned from the Research & Development Team Leader.
R&D Electrical Automation Engineer III Qualification Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in an Engineering (or Engineering Technology) field; Electrical or Software engineering is preferred, but other disciplines will also be considered.
  • At least 6 years of demonstrated product/process development experience in an applicable engineering area.
  • Background in automation control systems, including but not limited to: Programming Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), motion control, vision systems, servos, robots, etc.
  • Experience with commonly used engineering systems, methods of analysis, and business tools. Experience with SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical, SolidWorks PDM, GXWorks, and C-More is desired but not required.
  • Strong statistical analysis, experimental design (DOE) experience is highly desirable.
  • Risk and hazard analysis using FMEA and well considered design reviews.
  • Proficient with the layout and building of electrical panels.
  • Documentation systems; change orders, writing specs, quality systems, ISO requirements.
  • Proficient in simple computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. with the ability to learn new ones.
  • Air and motor vehicle travel (either in the US or internationally) when required (<5% of time).
