Minimum Job Requirements


  • Physical- Generally sedentary work, proficient in using a PC keyboard and computer. Ability to move through the plant with or without accommodation.
  • Working Hours- fulltime (45+ hrs/week) employment
  • Personal Traits- Excellent communication skills with positive teamwork and safety attitude. Ability to interface and communicate effectively with various department personnel and supervisors. Good listening skills. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy while able to multi-task and trouble shoot.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for managing the implementation of the VKS (digital work instruction) system effectively and efficiently throughout the plant. Responsible for coordinating with the technical writer and area leadership and operators VKS deployment and implementation including hardware needs. Authority to work with production and engineering to identify and implement process improvements. Authority to manage various ad hoc projects as directed by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.


  • Develop project plans including prioritization and dates of implementation
  • Manage assigned projects in accordance with plan/schedule
  • Identify project risks and implement actions to mitigate risks
  • Provide regular status reports on project progression
  • Notify leadership of any delays in project implementation and defined schedule
  • Identify resources (e.g., equipment, personnel, software) needed to ensure project success
  • Communicate with affected area leadership and employees prior to and during project implementation to ensure project understanding and minimize impact to production flow and schedule.
  • Ensure project implementation is sustained and effective. Make adjustments as needed.
  • Track and document cost and time in new projects using various project tracking tools and software.
  • Ensure verbal and written communication is accurate and effective.
  • For VKS project, assist technical writer with filming of process steps
  • For VKS project, work with product and process engineers, area employees and leadership to ensure accuracy and efficiency of the process steps documented in VKS.
  • For VKS project, ensure AS9100 requirements are accurately captured in the electronic work instructions
  • For VKS project, closely work with Production Managers and area Supervisors to assess operational requirements and to plan and organize workflow patterns into the VKS system
  • For VKS project, train employees how to use the system and ensure training effectiveness
  • For VKS project, serve as an interface between production and technical writer.
  • Be willing to work extra hours as needed.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Knowledge of and experience with metal/machine shop processes.
  • Experienced in using an ERP system (Epicor preferred), Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read, understand, and explain schematics, blueprints and/or technical documents.
  • Ability to assess operational requirements and to plan and organize work flow and schedules.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 requirements and quality KPIs, desirable
  • Strong team building and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to positively influence people to get tasks accomplished in a timely manner
  • Project management planning and organization skills.
  • Able to coordinate numerous tasks effectively and efficiently

Education and Experience

Five years manufacturing experience, preferably in a machining center environment. College Degree preferred.
