Who You Are:

Versar is seeking a talented Senior NEPA Project Manager with strong technical skills and a deep understanding of the Department of Defense Environmental Impact Analysis Process (EIAP), to lead the capture and management of large NEPA projects and to support the preparation of Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) and Environmental Assessments (EAs) for complex and often controversial projects nationwide. Our portfolio of existing NEPA projects include establishment and modification of airspace, construction, master planning, land withdrawals, weapons systems, changes in airframes and training needs, and other mission-critical projects and programs.

What You'll Do:

  • Management, preparation, planning, and analysis/review of technical studies, permit applications, NEPA documents, and similar reports/documents.
  • Directing the work of teammates in the completion of required studies, documents, and reports.
  • Implementation of QA/QC procedures.
  • External/client-focused project management (e.g., agenda setting, progress reporting, schedule adherence, fostering client relationships.
  • Internal/enterprise-focused project management (e.g., financial tracking, forecasting anticipated monthly revenue generation, providing estimate at completion reports, subcontractor management).

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Planning, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 15+ years project management experience in complex environmental planning projects which involve NEPA; experience with: DoD (specifically Air Force and Navy) a plus.
  • Proven client management skills with Department of Defense strongly preferred.
  • Technical and/or field experience with environmental impact issues, associated permit processes and documentation preparation/review are a must.
  • Public participation, agency coordination, planning, and programming experience.
  • Ability to take a leadership role in managing NEPA projects and developing new business.
  • Ability to manage the entire process for Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) and Environmental Assessments (EAs).
  • Excellent communication skills, as well as strong conceptual, organizational, problem solving and research abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients and show demonstrated expertise in managing several complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Interact with clients in process management and provide guidance and advice on complying with NEPA and related statutes and authorities (e.g., Section 106 of the Historic Preservation Act, Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act, Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, and various Executive Orders, etc.).
  • Experience managing agency consultation, public involvement, comment-response, impact analyses, and document production.
  • Manage multidisciplinary, geographically diverse teams and developing and managing project budgets and schedules.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel including report formatting and production of technical reports and proposals.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and team player with a strong focus on quality and client service.
  • Business Development and proposal preparation experience for capture of NEPA compliance and natural resource management with one or more of the following clients: DoD (specifically Air Force and Navy), Department of Interior, Department of Agriculture.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and capable of obtaining government security clearance and/or Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must possess and maintain an active and valid driver's license without restrictions and comply with Versar's vehicle policy.
  • Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
  • Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.

Compensation

Expected Salary: $124,000/year

Versar Global Solutions is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the Company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's status protected by local, state, or federal law.
