About the role:
As a Senior Software Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing, guiding, and implementing scalable tech solutions to enhance our ground freight business. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive technical excellence while ensuring solutions are aligned with business goals. This is a hands-on, senior individual contributor role, with the potential to evolve into a technical leadership position in the future.

In this role, you will:

  • System Architecture & Design:Design and architect scalable, robust, and secure software solutions for our ground freight business, with a focus on Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

  • Integration & Data Flow:Design, develop, and modify integration points to ensure seamless data flow between TMS, enterprise systems, and external vendors.

  • Collaborative Software Development:Contribute to the development, testing, and deployment of software solutions in coordination with other teams, including product owners, business analysts, and engineering teams.

  • Solution Design & Documentation:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create Business Requirements Documents (BRD) and design specifications, ensuring that solutions meet project goals.

  • Addressing Gaps & Continuous Improvement:Identify functionality gaps within current TMS systems and recommend solutions. Drive continuous learning and incorporate innovative technologies into solutions.

  • Technical Leadership:Provide strategic direction, lead design discussions, and set technical standards. Guide teams on best practices for system design, software development, and testing.

  • Mentorship:Mentor other team members, helping to foster skill development and growth while encouraging best practices and technical excellence.

What you bring:

  • Proven Experience:Extensive experience as a Software Architect or Solutions Architect, particularly with TMS, complex, large-scale systems, and multi-cloud ecosystems (Azure preferred).

  • Hands-on Expertise:Experience in designing and implementing solutions for ground freight or logistics businesses, with a solid background in cloud technologies, APIs, microservices, and systems integration.

  • Technology Stack:Expertise in core software technologies including .NET, C#, and web services. Familiarity with SQL-based databases (MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle) is highly preferred.

  • Technical Vision & Decision Making:Proven ability to make key resolutions regarding the selection of software architecture solutions, guiding projects from conceptualization to implementation.

  • Collaborative & Matrixed Environment:Ability to work in a matrix organization and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across global teams.

  • Communication Skills:Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly and work cross-functionally to align on goals.

  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:Strong analytical thinking, capable of identifying system inefficiencies and gaps and implementing effective solutions.

Nice to Have:

  • Logistics Expertise:Familiarity with logistics platforms or TMS systems

  • Cloud & DevOps:Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based development and deployment strategies.

  • Data Analytics:Familiarity with data integration and analytics, specifically for logistics and transportation data.

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: $230,000 - $260,000 USD*

Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible for Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, and 401k Match.

*The above-stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors, such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
