Project Manager
Position Summary:
We are looking for a driven Project Manager (PjM) to join our team in Norfolk, VA. The Project Manager will be responsible for the day to day operation and management of projects/personnel assigned. The PjM will lead a group of LCE employees to high levels of productivity, results, and engagement. The PjM will interface directly/indirectly with customers to understand their project's requirements and thereby enable our team's success in achieving those deliverables. He/she is expected to maintain the work of today and are also instrumental in growing new business. He/she is accountable for the execution of profitable projects and contractual deliverables to clients. PjMs may perform, or will provide support for, capture and proposal development.
Clearance Requirement:
- Must be a US citizen with a current active DoD security clearance
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain credibility, respect and confidence with new and potential customers, partners and the organization by demonstrating in-depth technical knowledge.
- Consistently apply LCE's Business Development process and, work with marketing, business development, and contracts to support the writing, development, and composition of proposals and presentations.
- Serve as client's point of contact for contract, task order, or purchase order execution.
- Updating/Maintaining CRM with project information, positioning information and contact information.
- Capture of execution metrics and success stories.
- Develop solutions based on customer's needs.
- Accountable for ensuring deliverables, cost, and performance levels meet client needs and expectations within the context of the contract and LCE goals including appropriate use of LCE business management tools (Costpoint, Deltek, PSR, CRM, etc.)
- Meet or exceed the financial and business objectives of assigned projects (Revenue, DLGR, Fee, OH, employee utilization, budgets, business planning, etc.).
- Ensure personal and organizational compliance to company and legal guidelines as specified, with particular care given to safe work practices.
- Clearly communicate the organization's direction, goals, and priorities to employees.
- Participate in the interviewing and hiring of new team members in accordance with company policy.
- Lead change effectively by building commitment in a collaborative team environment.
- Foster and support the growth of employees through mentoring, consistent recognition, and feedback mechanisms. Address any personnel issues in a timely and empathetic way in adherence to company policy.
- Develop and nurture employee engagement throughout the organization, leading by example and setting clear expectations that result in a highly engaged workforce.
- Work under the supervision of a Program Manager according to company policies and project specifications.
- Plan for and attend all project-related and internal business meetings with the PM, i.e. client reviews, operations meetings, recruiting meetings, etc.; may represent the PM in some meetings
- Forecasts and develop job requirements and scope of work to include estimates for personnel, time, travel, material, etc. necessary to achieve project deliverables in support of the PM
- Work closely with the PM on budget development for the program, managing the budget estimates and contract expectations, and managing the preparation of task statements and financial reporting
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Ten or more years of experience working in government/defense contracting (including Navy) and at least five years in a team lead or management capacity
- Candidates should possess a full range of project management skills including creating and maintaining technical project plans, project work breakdown structures, resource plans and schedules.
- Previous Navy shipboard planning, preventive, and corrective maintenance experience.
- Professional oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team player and demonstrate personal initiative to complete the work of the team as a whole.
- Must be sensitive to the professional expectations of the business, ensuring a positive impression for all stakeholders.
- Must be highly reliable and capable of meeting work schedule consistently.
- Must exhibit the enthusiasm and perseverance needed to meet and exceed objectives, utilization and improve performance, by effectively overcoming barriers or recommending solutions while escalating concerns to obtain desired results.
