Summary: The Supply Chain Optimization Course Training Instructor will support the U.S. Army Sustainment University (ASU) with instructing and maintaining the TRAS documents for both the Intermediate Level Logistics Course and the Supply Chain Optimization Course, in resident, distance learning virtual and at mobile training sites throughout CONUS. This service is specific to the Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS) School Code 907, course titled: "Intermediate Level Logistics Course" (ILLC), and course titled: "Supply Chain Optimization Course" (SCOC). The instructor and training support services for the Active, National Guard, and Reserve Component soldiers, contractors, and DA civilians to provide the skills required to perform logistics and supply chain related operations at the National and Strategic levels by providing qualified functional experts in U.S. Army Logistics Enterprise.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Shall provide training development services by reviewing and revising current lesson plans, recommending changes to lesson plans, implementing new technology or training aids into existing lesson plans, refining current procedures to ensure optimal efficiency during instruction rotations, and conducting course scheduling and classroom management duties.
- Shall review and update instructional materials in specific assigned subject areas. In accordance with Lessons Learned and changes in Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs), they provide a data source for lessons learned and trends to improve doctrine and training.
- Shall provide platform and hands on training in accordance with approved Programs of Instruction and using training materials provided by the Government. All Instructors shall be evaluated utilizing the TRADOC Instructor Observation Rubric.
- Contractor shall prepare training materials and training aids to enhance student understanding.'
- Shall prepare the classroom for training and shall be responsible for distribution of course materials in accordance with class training schedule.
- Provide assessments and evaluations of each student's performance regarding the Mission Command briefing.
- Administer and ensure the security of all written assignments and practical exercises.
- Participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in redline revisions of the POIs, Lesson Plans, and Training Support Packages (TSPs) to remedy any deficiencies or shortcomings identified during the preparation for and conduct of instruction.
- Shall grade all written assignments.
- Provide remedial instruction as required for students needing additional instruction in accordance with the ASU SOP and ASU Student Handbook. Students will be given five (5) days to complete these remedial assignments.
- Shall be available from 1100-1300 Monday - Friday to provide in-person conferences as well as remedial instruction.
- Shall participate as a Subject Matter Expert in revising and updating the courseware which includes, but is not limited to, student and instructor materials, evaluation tools, POIs, Lesson Plans, and Training Support Packages to remedy any deficiencies or shortcomings identified during the preparation for and conduct of instruction.
- Responsible for keeping all course materials and courseware current, which includes but is not limited to, integration of material supporting GCSS-A systems fielding and operations.
- Shall assist students during classroom assignments of case studies, practical exercises, computer simulations, and student projects by the use of their technical and management expertise, and their experience with logistics automation. In no case, shall ILLC or SCOC Instructors provide students with solutions to class exercises except during the formal, in-class review of the exercise, case study, or simulation.
- Shall prepare the classroom for resident, virtual and mobile training courses and shall be solely responsible for distribution of course materials in accordance with the course training schedule.
- Shall maintain a student roster with a daily attendance record for each student.
- Shall assess student performance of classroom activities by formal and informal review of participation, comprehension, and other student requirements to ensure that students complete the learning objectives of the course.
- Shall conduct the Course graduation exercise and present training certificates of completion, provided by ASU, to students who successfully complete the course.
- Shall attend meetings and annual training requirements as related to the management and execution.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Be knowledgeable of TRADOC Regulation 350-7, TRADOC Pam 350-7-70 and the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) process used to develop learning products.
- Be knowledgeable of the Training Development Capability (TDC) that supports the ADDIE process.
- Have one (1) year of experience teaching, development, or reviewing course material, training aids, and manuals for military training programs.
- Have the ability to and shall complete the Supply Chain Management Course, Intermediate Level Logistics Course, and the Supply Chain Optimization Course.
- Shall be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook) as well as Adobe Acrobat to effectively perform services required on this task order.
- Shall have oral and written communication skills to effectively perform services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of ten (10) years prior military service.
- Have a record of prior military service at a rank of MAJ, O-4, or above.
- Have been honorably discharged from service or currently serving as a National Guard or USAR officer.
- Have graduated from the U.S. Army Intermediate Level Education (ILE) or a Course equivalent.
- Have been or currently shall be a Logistics Branch (LG) Officer.
- Have held one or more of the following positions: Logistics Officer, Support Operations Officer, Battalion or Brigade S4, Accountable Officer, Maintenance Officer, Supply Officer, Petroleum Officer, Operations Officer, or Plans Officer.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Ability to pass an employment background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Served in past assignments with the Army Materiel Command HQ, a Life Cycle Management Command (AMCOM, TACOM, CECOM) or Depot/ Arsenal in the last ten years.
