ChampionX has an immediate need for a Business Development Manager to support our Gas Processing sales team. Ideally, the candidate will be based in Sugar Land, Texas but this opportunity is available to candidates in the Permian and South Texas region. This position will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, managing and securing new business opportunities within the gas processing chemicals sector. This role involves developing and fostering strategic relationships to ultimately drive organic revenue growth through market expansion in the gas processing business. What You Will Do:
Sales Strategy: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market share growth. Understand Market Dynamics: Use relationships to understand the client and market trends within assigned region and beyond. Client Acquisition: Develop and maintain sales pyramid to create business targets to ensure growth metrics are achieved. Demonstrate versatility by calling on all levels of the customer organization. Relationship Management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. Support, lead, or identify opportunities to trial new technologies and proactively show initiative by bringing ideas and new technologies to the team. Proposal Development: Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and responses to RFPs/RFQs. Collaboration: Work closely with geographical sales regions and technical teams to ensure customer needs and expectations are being met. Participate in District/Regional/Corporate initiatives when necessary. Collaborate in cross-functional projects within ChampionX, promoting the transfer of knowledge as well as the delivery of innovative processes and programs. Lead, coach, and mentor less experienced sales representatives and managers on diverse topics Industry Networking: Participate in industry events, exhibitions, and conferences to promote the company's services and products. Reporting: Provide regular reports on business development activities, sales performance, and market insights.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or 10 years relevant experience in lieu of a degree 4 years of successful technical sales or field sales support experience in the oil and gas industry Ability to frequently travel within assigned sales territory Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record Immigration sponsorship is not offered for this role (US Only) Up to 50% overnight travel required to support sales territory
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial) or Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, etc.) 5+ years of successful technical sales or field sales support experience in the oil and gas industry Existing relationships with key stakeholders at various levels across natural gas processing and midstream operators High computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn internal business systems) Prior experience that demonstrates strong ethics, effective time management, ability to multitask, adaptability, autonomy, and self-motivation Prior experience that required excellent communication and organizational skills Good negotiation and problem-resolution skills Working knowledge of chemical applications in gas processing
