Overview
    • The position will require you to design, implement, and support an on-premises cloud infrastructure, serving as a VMware subject matter expert to create and maintain a software-defined data center for all VMware environments. Responsibilities include automating resource provisioning, enhancing information security, and ensuring high system availability through monitoring, performance optimization, and robust backup/recovery strategies. As the expert, you will install and maintain system management tools, develop custom scripts for efficiency, and integrate systems with Windows and Linux, including multi-factor authentication solutions. Additional duties involve providing third-level support, liaising with vendors, resolving issues, and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, including system inventories and configurations. The contractor will also deliver real-time resource and performance reporting, continuously supporting government staff through training and industry best practices.

Clearance:
    • Active TS/SCI and ability to pass CI Polygraph required for employment
Responsibilities/Duties:
    • Provide final/senior tier vSphere support and coordinate tickets with vendors when needed
    • Coordinate with all external teams like network, storage, security, and OS throughout all project lifecycle stages
    • Respond to and fulfil all customer support needs regarding the vSphere environment
    • Monitor vSphere systems health and provide predictive analysis for future resource needs while resolving current resource bottlenecks and trouble tickets
    • Identify, design, and carry out all needed updates to firmware and software
    • Work to develop and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions
    • Provide and update technical documentation for all systems
    • Design and implement highly available, highly resilient production and backup solutions
Required Qualifications:
    • VMware VCP-DCV and VCP-CMA current with the last 5 years
    • Update certifications as requested
    • Eight years of vSphere Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
    • Advanced vSphere Certifications: VCP-VCF Administrator, VCP-VVF Administrator, VMware CAP - Data Center Virtualization Design, etc.
    • Bachelor's degree in IT related field of study
    • Experience with Python, PowerCLI, or other applicable script languages
    • Experience with VMware Aria Suite/VCP Automation
    • Experience with VMware NSX/VCF Networking
    • Experience with VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid
    • Experience with Dell OpenManage Enterprise or similar
$145,000 - $150,000 a year
