Responsibilities

Model Shop Machinist

  • Position is to work in our model shop to provide prototype parts, custom tooling as well as other parts, to both R&D and Order Fulfillment customers.
  • Must be able to produce parts which meet customer's requirements and specifications, as well as working as a team with engineering to identify Design for Manufacturing opportunities.
  • Requires ability to quickly produce prototypes from a "napkin sketch" design, all the way to a fully annotated 3D model with 2D drawing.
  • Ability to setup and program CNC milling machines as well as operate manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, etc.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles and techniques
  • Experience with tooling/fixturing and determining process of tool buildsMaintain a clean and organized work area
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints

Proficiency in the following areas:

  • Manual mills/lathes.
  • Programming of CNC equipment using CAM packages, i.e., MasterCam preferred
  • Setup/operation of CNC mills and lathes
  • Experience with tooling/fixturing and determining process of tool builds
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction

Desirable skills:

  • Swiss lathe programming/setup/operation
  • EDM experience - wire & sinker
  • Sheet metal fabrication
  • Laser or waterjet
  • Multi axis programming
  • CAD experience
  • Leadership/supervisor experience

Pay Range:

USD $54,510.00 - USD $90,850.00 Year

The level of this role will be based on applicable experience, education, and skills; most offers will be be between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range listed.
Note: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region
