Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager specializing in the Army domain. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Army operations, strong business acumen, and a proven track record of fostering relationships within the defense sector.

The primary focus of this role is to drive business growth by identifying and pursuing opportunities, from "Cradle to Grave, within the Army, facilitating meetings for capability briefings and demonstrations, managing client portfolios, and expanding our market reach through networking and relationship-building activities.

The Business Development Manager will have significant experience pursuing and winning new business in the Army Defense market. They will be responsible for identifying, shaping, qualifying, capturing, and growing new opportunities and capabilities.



Responsibilities

    Develop a deep understanding of existing and prospective customers, understand their current and future requirements, and correlate capabilities required by the customers to QinetiQ's products and solutions.
  • Identify and understand the competitive landscape and contribute to a QinetiQ strategy toward a superior offering.
  • Develop and execute coordinated approaches to new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive capture campaigns.
  • Be responsible for the discretionary spending budgets to capture new business. Identify new business opportunities, proactively communicate and be part of developing the strategic direction for our products and markets and be the voice of the customer.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and partners, business line leaders, engineering leads, manufacturing, capture and proposal, other business/product lines, partner companies, and customers.
  • Communicate our value to customers, partners, competitors, and the interested public. Will be the business development face of the organization and be directly involved in go-to-market strategy development and execution of go-to-market plans.
  • Provide vision to your team members and recruit and retain key personnel to resource the requirements of the business plan.
  • Collaborate with QinetiQ's Global Government Relations (GGR) at the Federal, State/Local on Public Policy in their advocation and development of new technologies and our solutions.
  • Travel 50% of the time (domestically & internationally)


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8-10+ years of Aerospace and Defense industry experience, 5+ of those years leading or being a key contributor on competitive captures or an Advanced Degree and 12+ years' experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Army domain experience and customer experience a must. Prior Army Service experience with special interest in Army Research Development and Acquisition (RD&A) strongly desired. Assignment in an Army Acquisition capacity, PEO or PM organization a plus.
  • Capture Management Certification (or external equivalent) desirable.
  • Active Secret clearance #qinetiqclearedjob
