PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Owens Corning's Global Information Services (GIS) provides a technology platform that supports the company's growing global business needs. In this organization, the Technical Project Manager role is an exciting project and technical leadership role accountable for the project delivery and continuous improvement within the Global Infrastructure and Operations (GIO) domain. This domain covers solutions and technologies associated with IT Infrastructure used by the global workforce of Owens Corning (OC).

Working closely with GIS platform owners and key suppliers, this role provides project leadership and governance for both GIO and business projects. These projects and life cycle management programs will focus on the platforms, services, and hardware required by our global users to enable high performing teams, drive business growth, and bring a positive experience. Additionally, this role utilizes key suppliers for daily project management, which enables broader delivery of strategic objectives.

Reports to: GIO Leader - IT Infrastructure Integration and Project Leader

Span of Control: Individual contributor; management/partnership of 3rd party vendors and suppliers


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Knowing Our Businesses and their Strategies



  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Owens Corning specific business processes and operations locally and globally
  • Build relationships within the organization, cross-functionally, and with key business stakeholders; continuously enhance connection to remain aligned with core objectives
  • Understand how the IT infrastructure projects are directly aligned with the company's strategic objectives by regularly engaging with key business stakeholders for assigned projects
  • Position yourself as an advisor and advocate that brings the expertise, the knowledge, and the delivery ownership of the solution



Executing Strategy

Project Leadership



  • Overall program leadership and accountability for the success of each project assigned
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budget
  • Ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and meet defined success criteria for the project leading to positive stakeholder experiences
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand and document their needs and expectations
  • Leverage appropriate tools, templates, and processes aligned with OC and industry standards to aid in the successful execution of projects and programs
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication to ensure alignment and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including IT, business, functional, and partners resources
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies while monitoring and managing risks throughout the project to minimize impact on project outcomes
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure financial accountability while maintaining accurate forecasts, accruals, and regular budget updates
  • Develop with quality and accuracy financial appropriations in support of initiatives while tracking the closure of sensitive materials to ensure OC stays on budget and in compliance
  • Monitor and verify the procurement, acquisition, delivery, and return of assets, software, licenses as part of full lifecycle of any project and program
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and senior management on project status, progress, and any issues
  • Build strong relationships with partners, suppliers, and vendors as part of project execution and delivery
  • Where appropriate own the full lifecycle management of specific technical domain to ensure on time planning, coordination, transition, and careful delivery of associated assets for our sites globally
  • Understand and proactively leverage OC governance practices to support healthy alignment and support of activity
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the project team while identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness
  • Manage project transition and closure to ensure a smooth support transition - including documentation, asset cleanup, etc.
  • Utilize reporting capabilities and data to continuously develop the metrics and KPIs to evaluate overall health of projects and lifecycle management activity for which you are accountable to deliver
  • Stay informed and knowledgeable about OC technology standards and corresponding technical roadmaps
  • Partnering with global colleagues to share best practices and consistency of results

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualification



  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience within the Information Technology industry, with concentration around infrastructure and/or applications and the following:

    • Endpoint technologies such as PC's, tablets, etc.
    • Microsoft O365 features and associated licensing
    • Connectivity and network platforms and technologies such as routers, switches, wireless, firewalls, etc.
    • Hosting platforms and technologies such as server compute, hosting, backups, etc.
    • Hardware Asset Management (HAM) processes
    • Process automation within IT platforms


  • 4+ years of experience in Program Leadership focusing on the following:

    • Utilizing program and project methodology and techniques
    • Leading other project managers to achieve project deliverables and goals
    • Managing and leading global projects with global resource allocation
    • Project and portfolio management practices and tools


  • Experience interacting at multiple levels of an organization with a specific focus on delivering results and strong communication skills
  • Knowledge and working experience with IT Service Management platforms and capabilities (ServiceNow)
  • Ability to communicate complex technical services and support information clearly and confidently across all levels of the organization, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders on assigned projects
  • Ability to recognize areas for improvement while building a path for progress by developing strong functional and business partnerships and alignment for change
  • Strong track record in influencing cross-functional teams, coordinating complex projects/programs, and delivering outstanding results in a global, culturally diverse team environment
  • Well-versed with IT policies and procedures, methodologies, technology standards, protocols, roadmaps, services, and operations


  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and inspire trust with multiple stakeholders to get results
  • Demonstrate the ability to be a self-starter with a sense of curiosity and desire to continuously learn and grow
  • Ability to collaborate and demonstrate a team-oriented partnership with a focus on delivering results
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally as required (10-20%)
