Staff:

Estimated annual base pay: $114,400 (minimum) - $143,000 (midpoint) - $171,600 (maximum) -CO & IL

Estimated annual base pay: $126,000 (minimum) - $157,500 (midpoint) - $189,000 (maximum) -CA ONLY

Senior Staff:

Estimated annual base pay: $131,600 (minimum) - $164,500 (midpoint) - $197,400 (maximum) -CO & IL

Estimated annual base pay: $144,800 (minimum) - $181,800 (midpoint) - $217,200 (maximum) -CA ONLY

The Staff/Sr. Staff Pressure Sensor Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Leader, is responsible for leading product design efforts, mentoring engineers, and contributing to process improvements, strategic planning, and presentations. Operating with minimal supervision, the role involves independent work, oversight of project portfolios, and awareness of industry trends and customer needs. The engineer engages in high-level customer interactions, provides technical evaluations of new opportunities within the PLC process, and participates in enterprise negotiations. Expertise includes mechanical design, fabrication methods, and advanced pressure sensing technologies such as MEMS.

What you will be doing...

  • Design and develop pressure sensor technologies and products for aerospace applications, ensuring accuracy, durability, and reliability.

  • Select appropriate materials and components (e.g., MEMS, piezoelectric) using simulation and testing tools for performanceoptimization.

  • Test sensors under varied environmental conditions (e.g., temperature, vibration)and establishing error analysis and calibration methods.

  • Work with manufacturing and operations teams to establish capable manufacturing processes and controls

  • Collaboratewith multidisciplinary teams to integrate sensors into larger systems.

  • Partner with manufacturing teams for scalable, cost-effective designs and collaborate with clients for customized solutions.

  • Stay updated on advancements in sensor technologies (e.g., MEMS, piezoresistive).

  • Innovate to improve performance, reduce costs, and contribute to patents and business growth plans.

  • Ensure designs meet regulatory and industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASME) and maintain thorough documentation for quality assurance.

  • Lead sensor development projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget, and provide technical support and training as needed.

  • Diagnose and resolve performance issues in existing sensor systems and optimize functionality for specific applications.

  • Develop next-generation design and manufacturing standards and contribute to product line strategies and technology roadmaps.

  • Engage with customers and maintain industry awareness to align sensor designs with market needs and trends.

What we are looking for...

Staff:

  • Bachelor's Degree inEngineering (ME, EE, or other as appropriate), advanced degree preferred

  • Greater than 8 years' experience in related field, including post-graduate experience

Senior Staff:

  • Bachelor's Degree inEngineering (ME, EE, or other as appropriate), advanced degree preferred

  • Greater than 12 years in related field required, including post-graduate experience.
