SUMMARY
The Project Manager - Intermediate is responsible for coordinating and facilitating work that meets the business goals and objectives as outlined in the Project Charter. This position is responsible for delivering clear and concise communication regarding team roles and responsibilities by understanding the desired business outcomes and being able to articulate how the project deliverables will meet those requirements. The position also includes producing weekly project status reports, risk management, escalation of issues that cannot be resolved by the team, and ensuring the project is delivered in budget, on schedule, and within scope.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adheres to the methodologies and best practices as presented by the Project Management Office (PMO) through all process groups of initiation, planning, execution, and closure.

  • Works with a project sponsor and stakeholders to complete project charter; outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget, and timing.

  • Completes work breakdown structure to estimate effort and duration required for each task.

  • Develops and maintains projects plans and schedules.

  • Ensures resource availability and allocation.

  • Establishes clear ownership for project tasks, ensure that team members have the tools needed, and provide timely feedback.

  • Manages project scope by ensuring any changes to the scope are documented and approved with the Project Change Request Form.

  • Assesses project risks and issues to identify solutions that meet business objectives and ensure quality deliverables.

  • Manages and documents project budgets by analyzing project profitability, revenue, margins, etc. in coordination with document project success criteria.

  • Provides consistent stakeholders updates using the standard Project Update Template.

  • Ensures project documenting is complete, current, and stored appropriately in project tracking tool.

  • Manages strategic projects to the expected business benefit rather than the features available in the product.

  • Manages multiple inter-related projects to meet a specific business strategic outcome.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directs and manages overall work efforts of multiple project teams with 20 or more members.

  • Builds and develops the project team to ensure maximum performance, providing purpose, direction, and motivation.

  • Provides leadership while coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors to deliver projects according to plan.

  • Utilizes exceptional communication skills to effectively lead cross-functional, virtual teams while interfacing with senior management and all levels of the organization.

  • Works collaboratively with development and support staff to maintain a thorough knowledge of product and system capabilities.

  • Guides the sponsor and teams to make decisions that allow for the company to realize the benefits of the project deliverables.

  • Runs efficient meetings and workshops.

  • Fosters attendee participation and collaboration in small and large groups.

  • Builds and continuously develops relationships with bank users, all levels of management, and vendors to increase the operational capability of the Project Management Office to deliver our services.

  • Utilizes team members to their fullest potential, encourages collaboration, mitigates conflict, and fosters positive communications, acknowledgement, and appreciation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Possess strong work plan development capabilities and progress oversight skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong management skills to manage a medium to large project team or multiple medium projects towards successful completion.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, MS Project, PowerPoint, and Visio).

  • Ability to work well independently.

  • Be highly organized, self-starter and adaptable to change.

  • Employ strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.

  • Properly prioritize workloads and remain adaptable under pressure.

  • Must be detail-oriented and have strong analytical skills.

  • Possess general understanding in the areas of software application, database, and system design.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • 4-6 years general business experience required

  • 4-6 years project management experience required

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Professional Project Manager or similar preferred
